People always say it was a mistake to sell Cairney, and Corry Evans too. But at the time we'd just signed Huddlestone and Livermore and had Meyler, Koren and Quinn too who were all better at the time, and we went on to have our best ever season with that team. Cairney improved after moving to Blackburn, apparently learned to apply himself a lot better which was a bit of an issue when he was with us, as I understand.

I thought the sale of Corry Evans was a mistake, he was more mobile than Huddlestone and would have provided good cover. We did have better players, but Koren would never have played the deeper role in that team and I think Evans would have been a cheap, handy squad option to have. But I did enjoy watching Stephen Quinn, he was excellent.

Whilst I understand your point, I don’t agree with it. I would love to have some of our former players back. Snodgrass for instance would make a great impact sub.
I don’t think that every one who has ever played for us would be perfect. But when you see ex city players in other teams doing well, it makes you wonder what they would be like back with us.

Only ones doing well are Robbo and Bowen and maybe Townsend. The rest are all aging has-beens who are way past their prime. Snodgrass has been kicked into touch early by West Brom because he’s 34 and constantly in the physio’s room.

That guy with the massive swede's doing alright I've heard
And cooper's not been a bad signing for TWS

I remember Meyler said on a podcast that during our last season in the Prem, some players just downed tools and ****ed about and disrupted training sessions on purpose during the 2017 January transfer window to force through moves to other clubs. He explicitly said Livermore was one.

Slutsky also said in an interview that during the first week at City, he had players such as Clucas come to him demanding to be sold. I wouldn’t touch any of these mercs with a ten foot pole now.

tThat sounds right from the reports up here. Some signing, absolute master stroke for Rangers anyway, not sure how they pulled that one out the bag.

Very happy chap here, City on the up and hopefully Ramsay can help the Gers beat that other team from Glasgow.

I still think City could sneak another signing in. Decent window regardless.
I heard £2 million? Hope he plays on Weds night and runs rings round them!!

Talking of Celtic..That's where Snodgrass wants to finish his career.

Yeah saw it on Twitter about an hour ago…not exactly an inspiring signing

Acun's quote 'we will sign players in this window, maybe not the most expensive players, but good players. Then from next summer we will be building for promotion' - or words to that effect.

That's exactly what we've got.

Appalling behaviour, granted, but not sure it's merc behaviour or just fed up with the way the club was being run.
