But football isn't 'any other business' is it ?
It was our captain and vice-captain, self confessed members of the leadership team at the club. Some leadership they showed. Using your logic, if the season had run its natural course all four players who jumped ship would not have been playing at full capacity because they would have one eye on picking up an injury which would hamper their chances of kissing another clubs badge in the future.
Of course I see it with my Hull City supporting goggles on as I would expect those players who played on for us would see their departure as betrayal. They ****ed off and left us in the **** when we needed them the most, their ex-team mates.
We hear a lot about the morals of fans on here, what about the morals of the players, the club captain and vice captain ?
Having said that, it could have been handled a whole lot better and their sudden exit and the way they left shattered any team spirt, all-for-one-one for-all, attitude the squad may have had and it showed in their performances.
But it is to the players. They are employed by an employee who has told them they are no longer wanted. They are then asked will you play an extra month for free. This is their job.
You are naive if you think players don't think the same as any other business.
They didn't **** off though did they. There contracts expired with an employee who did not want to extend the contract beyond a month. I expect a player to give his absolute all whilst he is contract with us, why would I expect him to give his all when that expires? Why would I expect him to play for free? Why would I expect them to play and risk their career and families futures for someone who doesn't want them? They are the same as everyone else, mortgages to pay, pensions to pay into.
