Can't believe you're shifting blame onto Ajayi! Yes he fluffed his shot, just like Belloumi, Millar, Coyle did a number of times but he's a centre half not a striker and as a centre half he was probably our MOM.
I'm not blaming him. Just saying he's the only player I can remember doing something particularly bad individually. And he probably should've got a second yellow for that ridiculous dive too. Definitely think it was a team/system issue on the whole.

A sharper player would have flung himself at that chance Yu gave up on when he thought the defender had it. Ajayi should have buried his late chance. They cleared pretty much off the line in the first half. Belloumi and Millar both had clear shots at goal they should have done better with. Yes it was a pretty flat performance but it’s not like we were outclassed, we did plenty to win the game, prevented Birmingham from creating basically anything at all and really should have won it. Only a wonder goal was the difference between 3 points and 1 and given the way we kept Birmingham out all game that was what it was gonna take and they managed it.

Too much hoofball but is that because we had little in midfield? Crooks looked knackered from the first 10 mins , always does when he’s deeper , a bloke on radio said it felt like they had an extra player and I know what he means, whenever we tried to mount an attack we didn’t seem to ever have more then 1 option to pass the ball to

Can we also talk about how iwata had no city player within 15 yards of him for the goal?

That really is shocking

We can't just externalise the goal like it's totally out of our control though. You could see it coming as soon as it fell to him. Two players going down after going for the same ball and then no one around the edge of the box for the second ball. It's the third time recently that someone has stuck one in the corner at the South stand end in the second half to cost us points. If we got the same chances to shoot unopposed from 20 yards we'd score some too, but it's always the away team that gets them.

Midfield an issue and desperately missing a runner who goes alongside Amir. What I think people are also over-looking is we are missing Hughes. Egan/Ayaji may offer more defensively but Hughes is by far our best passer/progressor of the ball. He needs to start.

We score a goal then attempt to park the bus for the rest of the game. We get the ball back and immediately send it into orbit with no thought or care. Ajayi and Egan are average defending but absolutely honking with the ball. Hughes is young and a bit rash defensively but I’d rather that than two ‘experienced’ centre-backs who treat the ball like it’s a bomb about to go off.
Ooii it's a low block are you not up with the latest saying s ?

Injuries are always an excuse. When Crooks was out it was all about him. The key to our football he was, can't possibly expect to win whilst he's injured. Now he's back it's quiet again on how important he is.

We have a very strong squad with loads of options. There'll always be someone missing and it can't always be an excuse.

I know you're a Amir fanboy but for me he is the problem. Slow and ponderous on the ball, goes missing and refuses to put his foot in.

It's always frustrating dropping points at this stage of the season but what a great position to be in with 3 games left and the easiest run in on paper. Of course, it doesn't mean anything is nailed on but if the bookies have you at 1/4 to be in the top 6 things are looking good - famous last words.

As good a job as Jakirovic has done this season - he needs to get a grip of this. We've been poor for weeks, and we are in similar form to both Rosenior and Selles' end of seasons, and they were criticised loudly due to their lack of ability to get over the line.

We look very very stagnant, a far cry from earlier in the season when you felt like we would score at least 2 goals most games.

Midfield is a massive issue, but we've almost done it to ourselves with the signings of Dowell and Collyer. I thought the subs were poor today, god knows what Serg sees in Dowell and Koumas over Joseph.

Leicester will be up for it on Tuesday but they will be nervy and there for the taking. Get our physical players on the pitch and take the game to them, and if we go ahead go and score a bloody second.

These last few weeks (Coventry aside) have not been good enough.

Can someone please tell me, if Dowell is the answer, what is the ****ing question?

I see absolutely no point in bringing him on the pitch, Dowell must have kompromat on Sergey. The Rangers' fans were right about him.

We signed him on an 18 month contract.

We're stuck with him next season.

Even with our depleted midfield he's not getting a start.

Why did we buy him?
