The only positive thing I can come up with after witnessing yet another totally lacklustre performance at home, is that generally speaking, we’ve been better away this season, so hopefully we can get the necessary points to get us over the line in the next two, because I don’t see us getting anything at home in the final game against Norwich.
Sergej really needs to find a way of getting a midfield combination that allows us to get a foothold in games. Haven’t had that since Slater got injured, apart from Collyer’s one start. Let’s hope he’s available for Tuesday and Slater maybe on the bench or at Charlton at worst.
It’s so frustrating watching other teams constantly on top in midfield and even when we do eventually win the ball back, we immediately give it back to them!
As Syd said earlier, it’s looking a lot like two years ago again.

I'm not surprised to see people jumping on Dowell again, but he was absolutely fine today. Made one good tackle, some really nice touches, and didn't do a lot wrong. People just don't like him.

Not a Dowell fan, but he was no worse or less effective than Gelhardt, crooks or amir in the middle, all of them were relatively absent ...but is it their fault when our hoofball bypasses them for 90 mins?

He most certainly was not. Jogged back to defend after only being on for 30 seconds. Lazy ****.

There's a lot to say after that, but my overriding feeling is just that this hasn't been enjoyable for a long time. We've been **** at home for years and we're **** at home again now. We never look truly comfortable or comprehensively beat anyone. If you'd told me we'd finish 6th or 7th this season I'd have thought that sounds like a fun season with lots of good days, but it's been nothing like that.

Pathetic. Those who think the game against Leicester will be an easy game haven’t been paying attention these last few months or are still stuck in the denial stage of grief. We should be beating the likes of West Brom, Oxford, Sheffield United and these today but we haven’t. You may as well make peace with us not finishing top six because it isn’t happening.

I don't think any individuals were particularly to blame today, except for perhaps that Ajayi is an absolute donkey with the ball and shanked that one wide from so close. Whatever our football and our system is, it quite often gives our very talented attackers very little of the ball in meaningful positions, and today was an extreme example of that.

Too much long forward balls to McBurnie who, whilst good is struggling against their centre backs. Not enough football and no sitting midfield to stop their guy having a shot into the top corner. Why do we play on the front foot until we score then stop ****ing playing?

Answers on a postcard (again)

It’s certainly starting to look like that.

Would be nice to win on Tuesday and keep distance between us and them. Norwich at home will be a nail biter

Norwich can still make the playoffs technically.
And they play us and derby

Can't believe you're shifting blame onto Ajayi! Yes he fluffed his shot, just like Belloumi, Millar, Coyle did a number of times but he's a centre half not a striker and as a centre half he was probably our MOM.

We score a goal then attempt to park the bus for the rest of the game. We get the ball back and immediately send it into orbit with no thought or care. Ajayi and Egan are average defending but absolutely honking with the ball. Hughes is young and a bit rash defensively but I’d rather that than two ‘experienced’ centre-backs who treat the ball like it’s a bomb about to go off.

We get the ball back and immediately send it into orbit because there's no ****er in midfield to give it to.
