The UK would still left with 200+ nukes, which by definition is, I suppose, nuclear waste but is a tad more difficult to deal with. You end up with a sort of Fort Knox like storage depot at enormous expense both in the physics and the security side of it (SALT II treaty warheads are stored this way in the US and what was the USSR). They can, of course, be reassembled into usable weapons fairly quickly. They are safer in the subs.

Well I’ve enjoyed this thread, thanks for leaving it open. It has been good to hear different views, some with great passion which I love to see in people.
It’ll probably be closed down soon and I can’t wait for the thread about the next pope.
Back to reality, a game tonight, come on City!

Agree totally. Thanks to all those with more knowledge for their enlightenment and for the civility when it could have got out of hand. UTT

I think this thread has been in good spirit.

I think Labour was in a no win position on Brexit. If they came out to remain they'd of even more smashed on the north and Midlands. If they where to leave. They'd of lost in the big cities like London, Manchester and Leeds.

Labours domestic policy is actually really popular. Nationalisation, Green new deal and better working regulations.

If Rebecca Long-Bailey gets in I must remember not to have the TV on at meal times.

It would be nice if we can wind this up on good terms and I'd like to wish everyone who has contributed over the last week,a very merry x.mas and a prosperous 2020.

I'll finish my post by paying respect to a Labour veteran who lost his seat last night.Dennis Skinner says it how it is,added some much needed humour to the commons and never strayed from his working class background....That's rare in this day and age!!!

Nicola Sturgeon on TV now. A good time to close the thread before her sidekick in the blue suit comes on. We don't want to be discussing that xxxx.
