what percentage of the total UK vote did the SNP get to end up with over 50 MPs? Lib Dem’s got 1 with a lot more voting for them. Greens and Brexit Party 5% between them and only 1 seat.

3.9%

They are having a laugh if they seriously think that their 48 seats are some sort of leverage to get a new referendum in this new order.

And it doesn’t matter a **** that more than half the country didn’t vote for the tories, they’re still stuck with 100% Tory rule for the next 5 years.

Hence why I refuse to vote.

No party since 1945 has got over 50%. The nearest two were Attlee and Churchill with just over 49%.
If Labour had got in they wouldn’t have got 50%. Or is got 44% which is more than Blair did.

No doubt Corbyn, McDonnell and Lansman will have the same attitude to the electorate that Brecht said the GDR government had in his book ‘Solution’.

Interesting Scotland. Clearly they want to leave home now and when they do maybe you should let them. But you don’t leave home with all your Mum and Dads money and house. You have to set out by yourself and make your own cash. You don’t take all the savings if they have them. You don’t take all the furniture etc., They will need their own currency.. The Thistle perhaps !

PR has no chance for a generation.

I think boundaries will change in this parliament though.

I'm in favour of PR as a concept. I'd be more in favour of scrapping party politics altogether if that was possible. The problem is, many of the minor parties have no real experience or understanding of.how the parliamentary process works. It's why some elements in manifestos are more flights of fancy, albeit well meaning ones.

I think the political and financial systems need a thorough upgrade.

Jeremy Corbyn said: 'I will not lead Labour at next election'
The question is did you lead them in this one and to where

There's no rush for the new leader. We have plenty of time and he is leaving.

The Labour Party as a whole needs time to reflect.

No, I know that. Well I didn’t but suspected it was most likely the case. It’s the fact that more than half the country might as well not have bothered voting, their votes are basically worthless. Crooks like Rees-Mogg and Diane Flabbott continue to steal a whopping great big salary off the oppressed public, not because of their value but because they belong to such and such a party and are fortunate to have been placed in safe seats by their big wig mates.

Corbyn was undignified in defeat and chose to blame the media and personal abuse that he and his family received throughout his campaign,he needs to go now before he loses any shred of credibility that still remains for him.

He lost the election because he failed to grasp the anger of the British public in the paralysis he had caused,he lost the election because his spend, spend, spend manifesto was laughable,he lost the election because he is surrounded by buffoons(some of whom can't even work out simple costings) but most of all he lost the election because he is a danger to this Countries security due to his undying support for the Irish Republican Army,Hamas and Hezbollah!!!

Good riddance to the bitter, twisted, dangerous old bastard!!

True. Labour also lacked experience in governing - although I'm not sure that had much effect on the vote.

Some people suggest some form of direct democracy (taken from anarchism) which in a digital age, could also be interesting.

I am open to suggestions and to change, although I do kind of like FPTP (maybe I am traditionalist in that way) despite its failings and how things have panned out for a good while now.

Also, with PR, you would see the extremes getting in (the proper extremes, not the tabloid terms of Labour or Tories now) getting in.

But - the public wants what the public gets - or summart.

There is only one solution here. You make it illegal not to vote. That way no bastard can moan about the result. At least we all voted.

Be fair Ric. His life must have been hellish at times and even if you totally disagree with him, that must be clear. He has kids and a wife - genuinely must have been hard at times.

Corbyn's plans were for a fairer Britain but he would have not been allowed in the Privvy Council if he was any sort of threat. They planned to also keep Trident too.

Anyway, no point in going through policy again, but I think as one side as clearly won, maybe some reflection and courtesy would go a long way too.

I could not have coped with the death threats to my family, the daily media onslaught and the way he has been painted by said media.
