Calling fellow posters liars is not acceptable on here. Scully asks why more right of centre posters do not join in, this is a good example.

You are making claims with no evidence to prove a point you raised. I asked you for evidence, and you had nothing. You are lying.

Want me to show you the definition of 'lying'?

I can say that I have made a point in looking up the quotes of those Labour members who have been accused of anti semitism - because I really wanted to find out. I can say that I have seen comments against the Israeli government and against militant political Zionism - but I have seen nothing which I would regard as anti semitic. Bearing in mind that anti semitism is directed against the whole people on either ethnic or religious grounds. Unfortunately criticism of Israel is a tricky subject - by why should Israel be beyond criticism because of the risk of being labeled anti semitic. Israel practices forms of apartheid, and whether you are a first or second class citizen depends on your race and your religion yet, apparently, to label this as racism opens you up to the charge of being called one yourself. Why should Israel be immune to the type of criticism which can be labelled at other countries for similar practices ? The whole thing is being wound up and used as a weapon to beat Corbyn over the head by people who are not in tune with his left wing agenda but can find no other weapon to hurt him with.

So the Labour NEC is wrong to ditch Williamson
Labour MPs are wrong to label Corbyn an anti semite and leave the party in protest
The Jewish community is wrong in believing his conduct constitutes anti semitism and is encouraging non Jews to vote for Boris
    Are you missing something?

There are many other reasons why he is so unpopular.

I have been out for a few hours so only now get to read the thread. I don't know what is driving you SH, but reading it through anyone can see how you make claims that you cannot back up. You were asking for some tips the other day on improving your health. My suggestion is that you get out and take some exercise instead of sitting at a computer all day. I assume that you are not getting paid to do this.

I assume you think I should be paid for correcting much of the misinformation on this thread. You should take more time to actually read the posts so you can comment properly. I have had plenty of exercise today thanks, my gym equipment is very well used.

I will remind everyone what I said at the start of this debate.

" Any personal abuse and I will remove the post as soon as I see it. Any posts that simply sloganize if there is such a word will also get removed. I am happy with reasoned debate, but I expect to see the reasoning behind the post. If there is no reason given for a view it is also likely to get removed. We are all grown up and should behave as such, and I don't wish to stop debate, but let's show that we have used our reasoning before posting things that are unworthy of this board."

It's a great shame that we can't focus more on the perceptions of anti semitism in an objective way on here. It would be helpfull to actually use quotes which have been claimed as being anti semitic and then for us to actually be able to make up our own minds on it. It would be interesting to hear the views of Hornette and Zen on this as well. I want to be able to criticize the actions of the Israeli government in the same way as I am free to criticize any other - but do not want to do so in a way which will be offensive to a whole group of people. - so we need to find out exactly what is acceptable and what isn't, and why that is the case. Can I be anti Zionist without being anti semitic ? Otherwise the safest answer to the question of Israel and Palestine is to simply make no comment at all - which is safe, but not constructive.

Censorship can only work if applied in an even and unbiased way. The problem we have is the current moderator is a highly opinionated political contributor who has been previously criticised for not adhering to the above basic standard. We need to ensure there is no place on here for the allowance of abuse, from any side, and to prevent the reamergence of a dominating clique. This is the only way to attract more contributors of all political persuasions.

I think we have to acknowledge that political threads are not for the faint hearted - a certain amount of rough and tumble is inevitable. On the political threads on other forums they often go for it hammer and tongs - but the more posters you have the less it matters. Our political threads come down to only about 4 regular contributors (scarcely enough to make a clique of any description) who end up getting on each others nerves. I would like nothing more than to have political threads on here with the same numbers of contributors as at eg. QPR or Southampton, where all views are represented. We just don't have enough posters on any of our threads - even the predictions leagues used to have more than now.

It is quite simple SH. If you don't like the political threads stay away. I take my more political statements elsewhere rather than express them here. If you are unhappy with the views of the people who do post here, that is unfortunate, but I have no control over that apart from deleting any that become abusive. If you think I am being unjust, hardluck, but from what I see from the mods on other club boards, you wouldn't still be here. Take your pick, behave in a grown up way, or accept that I will continue to monitor all posts, yours included.

Rough & tumble is ok, personal abuse and calling other posters 'liars' is not. There just happens to be a hardcore of Tory haters and anti Brexiteers on this thread that has dominated for years. We have had instances where any new right of centre and/or Brexiteer posters have been instantly abused to give them the impression they are not welcome on this thread. Of course feelings run high but this is only a forum mainly for like minded Watford supporters. I miss the posts of guys like W-Y and Leo, the forum is much poorer because of their absence.

If thats what makes you feel important. One of the main reasons W-Y stopped posting was because of your inability to use the moderator role in an unbiased manner. You must take a sizeable chunk of responsibility for the forum currently being so politically unbalanced. Your school report would say 'you must try harder'

I also miss the posts of Leo (not so much W_Y because I cannot respect a poster who turns up throws insults in all directions and then disappears again). Can you give any examples of posters who have been instantly abused (I mean personally). You should try going on the QPR forum occasionally - being called a liar is mild on there, but they do stay and fight their corner.

'Northern Ireland has got a great deal. It has got a great deal. You keep free movement, you keep access to the single market", so says Johnson today. If access to these is so good for one part of the UK, why isn't the rest of the UK having the same deal?
