Fury didn’t stop him though, he played it the same way Joshua just did against fat tony. And Fury just dug into the big dosser the same way Joshua got stuck into Klitschko.

I think they’re quite similar in what they can do. It would be interesting to see how they both approach fighting each other. If Fury tries to fight Joshua the same way he did the big dosser, I think Joshua wins.

Fury has changed the way he fights. That’s why he changed trainer. His boxing skills have always been excellent, but he’s never had the biggest punch.

Through the Kronk Gym partnership, Fury now has the punch power to put opponents away early. Some of those punches Wilder took were destructive hammer blows.

With Fury in this form - He’ll dominate the heavyweight division until he hangs up his gloves.

The point I was making was that his ring craft.. his tactics and his boxing brain are superior to most out there .. I have to say I was impressed by the way AJ changed his style to beat Ruiz but only after he had taken an arse kicking from him and his trainers had changed the plan for the second fight. Fury is a wise cookie .. and as GLP has pointed out he has added weight to his punches which now make him even more dangerous. As it stands now for me Fury is the better boxer and would dismantle AJ.

Boxing viewing figures and PPV monies are as healthy as they’ve ever been. I don’t understand the whole boxing is losing out to UFC myth. I’m a boxing fan but I enjoy watching an decent UFC card whenever ones on. Seems like fans of each sports default is to dislike the other. Think it’s easy to enjoy both. Boxing for the purist and MMA for the sheer brutal madness of it.

The best boxers get paid far more than the best UFC fighters. In boxing the money is concentrated at the top.
Connor McGregor made by far the best payday of his career by fighting Mayweather in a boxing ring.

30% of being a great boxer is being a great sales man.

The perfect example of that the Haye Bellew saga. Two past decent fighters past there best sold them fights brilliantly.

Fury pitch is maverick, Joshua is the humble working class hero done well and Mayweather is the flash arrogant guy etc.

As for the fight. I thought Fury dominate the fight and either get Sparko'd in the late rounds or win on points. I really didn't see that com. He completely schooled. His jab was fantastic and was the way he worked Wilders body. But the money shot was the one to the side of the head that knackered Wilders ear up and completely destroyed Wilders balance.

I do think Joshua vs Fury would be close. Joshua is a far better boxer then people give him credit for. You don't win Olympic gold without being brilliant boxer.

But I don't think the fight happen until next year. Joshua has two mandatory's in Pulev and Usyk to fight and Fury has possibly a rematch with Wilder and Dillian Whyte to fight before February 2021.

My bet it will happen summer 2021 at Wembley or the US or winter 2021 in the middle east.

A little spanner in the works. Wilder has invoked the rematch clause. Claiming that his ring costume was to heavy...

I've not read it confirmed anywhere yet, but he would think he'd be mad not to invoke it as he'll increase his fortune. The question is, what will it cost him?

He's been uncharacteristically quiet. He'll need a lot of work to get himself psychologically mended. If he'd gone down from one punch, he could claim he was caught cold, so it could have been easier, but he saw his only weapon getting neutralised with relative ease, and then he got taken apart and found wanting in every other area, despite knowing exactly what he was up against. He saw the people that know him best chuck the towel in to get him out of there. That's going to be in his mind somewhere, and he knows Fury knows it too, as well as the future opponents if he managed to win. Losing the air of invincibility is hard for a guy that relies so much on his big punch.

They could offer him some cash to step aside with a promise of a fight against the winner.

Not sure it’s worth the risk to health for the same outcome. Fury was so superior.

The way Dana white pays his fighters is a disgrace. The money coming into UFC has risen unbelievably high, yet the money he pays his fighters hasn’t. Unless you’re a cash cow like Ronda Rousey or Conner McGregor

My guess, and it is only a guess, is he’ll invoke the clause, or threaten to, but then negotiate a deal where Fury fights AJ first and Wilder gets to fight the winner.
Gives him more time to get psychologically ready and has the added bonus that there’s a chance he won’t have to fight Fury again without it looking like he’s bottled it.
Also Wilder becomes a big discussion point in the whole Fury v AJ circus.

Tbf the way Fury deconstructed him I'd be more worried about Dillian Whyte .. has only got better since the wild fight against AJ .. and to come out with the excuse of his walk on costume being too heavy and subsequently drained him is laughable tbh losing any credibility in my eyes. The whole boxing nation must be in hysterics at that one !

I think Joshua isn't getting the credit he deserves. In his last fight he totally changed his style. Yes he got found out when he lost his titles but surely he deserves credit for the dominance he showed to win them back so convincingly. He adapted himself superbly last time out.

Against a boxer who had already lost to Parker in similar fashion ... Fury on the other hand took on two boxers one unbeaten and the other a champion who had defended that title for some considerable time .. but worked them out without losing or getting pummeled. I said early I was impressed by AJ changing his game to beat the man .. but a good boxer managed well doesnt need his arse kicking to work out how to win. At this time Fury imho is the better boxer currently .. that may well change in the future.

So how come Lenox Lewis lost to two relative underdogs? McCall and Rahman

Tyson against Buste Douglas. History is littered with great champions losing to lesser opposition.
