Wilder's sacked the trainer who threw in the towel.
He probably sacked him for not throwing it in the third round - Wilder's legs had gone then, it was only a matter of time.
So how come Lenox Lewis lost to two relative underdogs? McCall and Rahman
Tyson against Buste Douglas. History is littered with great champions losing to lesser opposition.
Chinese proverb from a few hundred BC,Usually because of complacency .. Fury does his homework .. and then sets about getting in between their ears before the fights .. upsets do occur in sport .. but rarely when the favourites have prepared properly and are in the correct mindsets .. Lewis when he fought Bowe was focused totally and dominated a guy they were calling the best thing since Ali ... but wasnt the same fighter when against McCall ( first fight) and Rahman.
Parker showed the way to beat Ruiz .. he had a reputation of being a durable but limited fighter with dangerous heavy punching power .. but like Tyson did against Douglas, AJ entered the ring with a disregard for that power.
The classic example of a heavy weight champion is Rocky Marciano .. a champion that was never beaten because he was always prepared for what stood in front of him.
In the heavyweight division one punch can end any fight .. but go into it nonchenently without respect for the opponent and you run the risk of losing. Failing to prepare is preparing to fail !

know yourself, know your enemy, and you shall win a hundred battles without loss
Another Chinese proverb ;
Man with hole in pocket feel cocky all day but come to sticky ending !

This Dillian Whyte interview is hilarious. Particularly the bit regarding the ring walk costume and then how badly Wilder got beat up.Dillian Whyte - Legend.
Lewis never fought bowe
Seeing as there are plenty fight fans on here, hows about a 606 sort out. We could do it for charity, there'd be some real massive fights. I'll provide the belt (I got it from C&A about 40 years ago).
I won't be a contender unfortunately as I'm the designated ref. And the doctor and the commentator and...
I’d guess, due to the large numbers involved, the over 50s Super Heavyweight division will be the most competitive.
Sign be up for the Under 12 Bantamweight Division.

I do agree mostly but they where still true champions in the way they came back from it. Well not in Mike Tyson's case.
I still believe that it was Frank Bruno who started the slow demise of Tyson, as it was him who showed that he could be rocked. Not many agree but he stunned Tyson that night.
