I get the feeling nothing is happening, looks like it’s going to be a long summer of further incompetence and disappointment with these jokers steering the sinking ship

I don't see it as a big deal personally and I think the hold up in the sale is purely about which league we are in.

It would have been in May as Charlie stated as by then we would have known what league we are in, in a normal season.

As it happens that now could be Wednesday evening/Thursday when EFL confirm L1 is over. Even if there is a further vote over an extended period on deciding league position it's irrelevant to us so a buyer can now pull trigger on the lower price.

I reckon we will have been been sold by June 30th at the absolute latest.

I would be absolutely staggered if Madrox, with FPP, got involved with another club. If FPP did get involved with another club it wouldn't be with Donald. I wouldn't worry about that scenario

think we’re a bit long in the tooth to expect something good to happen to the club.
We will be the laughing stock for a few more years I think

If another club sees the clip that Donald has made of this venture they should run a mile

The rumour at the time was that FFP were interested in other things in the area as well as the club so Madrox being setup in such a way to allow that is no surprise at all to me.

That’s exactly what I was thinking though I may be simply clinging onto the hope that everything works out in the end and that they do have a plan that involves the area as opposed to simply the club itself. When you look at the money top clubs generate now it’s frightening, the last thing we need are owners trying to compete by pumping money in as a hobby, as we’d end up in the same situation as now when they get bored and turn off the money supply. I’d much rather see the club build slowly and develop other means of revenue to help going forward.

Is there anything more to the weekend FPP rumours of the sale happening for 10M? Or is the best info just the slight change in FPP position?

I was excited over the weekend as I was thinking that the times article and the timing of the rumoured FPP purchase may be linked somehow. Now just looks like the removal of the debt repayment was a condition for FPP making the loan a while back - which would make sense by itself - and is not really related to anything new.

    a good listen here

Gareth Barker and Tom Walsh discuss the latest developments following the Daily Mail and The Times’ investigation into Sunderland’s accounts last week, while Chris Weatherspoon catches up with Price of Football Podcast’s Kieran Maguire to get the lowdown on what the revelations – and the club’s explanation thereof – actually mean for Sunderland AFC.

The 10M figure has never been mentioned to me, in fact I've never been given any figure..

What I have been told is that the idea of Donald being part of Sunderland going forward isn't as welcome as it once was.

This is how I've taken things.

If FPP do increase their involvement/takeover they'd have a clear out and put in people who they believe can run the place as a proper professional club with a clear aim.

I think the increasing amount of flannel, and the disillusionment of the supporters, is starting to become a worry.

I would be pleased if they came in and had a huge clear-out of some of the backroom staff. After watching STID 2 the one thing that struck me was how bad our commercial department staff are. It didn't help that Methven (David Brent) was leading them, but I saw nothing in anyone there that they were capable of running a multi million pound business.

TBH I haven't seen STID yet, too busy atm.

But I do have a friend who works at the club. Whenever I've asked about the non-playing staff he just rolls his eyes and says 'don't ask mate'.

It's worse now because they appear to openly hate the owners, he certainly does, which may have prompted the CEO appointment.

I love the idea of local people being employed by the club but a dynamic professional team is paramount.

I was told that FPP weren't impressed with the SOL below stairs, and thought that it looked tired and a bit tatty ...

    ... that hurt.
