I've answered it dozens of times.

It's because they believe they can own the club under their terms and they're happy to tie Donald up in knots ...

... not that he needs much help.

They're not the kind of people to go off in a sulk because the initial discussions didn't go as planned.

If that happened regularly no one, in business, would ever conclude a deal.

Staveley has been severely knocked back, and publicly insulted, yet is back again.

It just seems to me that this is a far better deal for them than buying us outright, which is why I have believed for a long time that this was their intention all along. I would guess that if anything, it was Donald trying to get them to take us on in November, but it didn't fit their timescale for the investment.

Not only is it the most plausible, but it's backed up by what has happened since. FPP didn't come back to the table and try to get a better deal than the one youre suggesting they were offered a few months prior when Donald said he would sell us as a matter of priority. They've been conspicuous by their absence since January, even before March they were nowhere to be seen.

I think the reality is that Donald probably got the best deal available to him from FPP and has taken a bit of a risk with it, one he probably thinks is worth it because it's better than selling a majority to someone else. This deal is great for FPP, ok for Donald and good for the club. They're arguably in a better position to capitalise on any success we have than they would be if they'd taken over outright.

Yes but you're not them so whatever you think, without knowing the facts, is just a theory at best and guesswork at worst.

Everyone's guessing, you and I included, but I'm basing my views on the evidence of Donald referring to them as new owners, etc.

You may dismiss all of these things, because they don't support your argument, but that doesn't mean they didn't happen.

" .... it's backed up by what has happened since. They didn't come back to the table and try to get a better deal."

That's an example of guesswork put forward as fact.

It's objectively a better deal though, there's no denying that bit. They have absorbed no risk and retained the right to jump in at an agreed price. They're never going to be worse off than they were.

You can't paint that as guesswork, it's a crazy good deal.

And if they've come back to the table since december, I'll hold my hands up, but there's been no evidence of that and he's talked a lot about looking for other buyers. If there's any suggestion they're looking to buy us in the immediate future, I've yet to see it and as far as I know, nobody else has either.

FPP haven't said anything since the start ...

... taking their continued silence as meaningful is straw grasping imo.

I've never mentioned 'the immediate future' ...

... no idea where you've dragged that up from.

However it could be tomorrow if Donald throws the towel in.

my simplistic take on it is this, FPP wanted a championship club to take into the premiership, and that's what SD promised them. He failed to deliver on it after the disaster at Wembley, so FPP put down a ( 10m) deposit on the club, and told Stewie to give them a call when they were back in the championship, and they'd be back to complete the deal. I also think they will have put a time limit on the 'deposit', and if we're not in championship by that time, they either get their deposit back and walk away, or if he can't pay they take the club.
Hence methvan tirade at wembley on std saying there's to much at stake on this

Donald has failed twice because A, he's appointed timid managers and B, he's not bought the right players.

There's absolutely no question we'd be promoted with a dynamic manager and a team able to follow his instructions.

People might say 'it's not that simple' but I believe it is tbh.

The focus is much too much on the non-playing staff and not enough on the pitch ...

... I'm tired of it all and just want to cheer on a team that looks bothered.

The last two transfer windows have been appalling, with Nia on nowt spent.

Robert Platek was thought to have originally been following Sunderland on instagram.

If it was him i wonder if he still does, at the time he was following 65 and if you look at this account now it still says the same.

And at the same time someone on RTG found that my friend Ben Brown, the millionaire art dealer, was following Fuhrman.

By then I'd previously mentioned the connection on the forum, weeks before.

It was Brown who showed me the WhatsApp messages from Fuhrman where they were discussing him buying the club and his plans.

At the time I asked about keeping it under my hat and he said it was common knowledge in his 'set' so no problem.

I think that what smug is saying is you’ve no evidence that they have or haven’t kitten, therefore you have to say you think what you think, but you don’t know. I know for a fact, my source is as close to the horses mouths mouth if you can work it out, that they put the £10m to tie his hands and were still around in February, dunno whether they are now, my source struggled to get back home after lockdown and this isn’t a top priority conversation to have atm.

There's no evidence that they don't want to buy the club.

The rest is speculation.

There is evidence that they do want to buy the club.

The rest is speculation.

If they definitely didn't want the club they wouldn't have deliberately put themselves in the position where they absolutely will if Donald is ducked.

But you're so black and white (pardon the pun) with this smug. It's entirely possible that they want to buy us, but not yet. That is all I've said since day one and you're absolutely insistent that this simply cannot be, despite that effectively being exactly what they've set themselves up for, and them not even getting involved since Donald put us up for sale 'officially' in December/Jan.

I don't know if anyone has suggested they definitely don't want to buy us ever, but there's so much inbetween that which you seem unwilling or unable to accept is possible, despite us literally living that middle ground :D I wouldn't actually be bothered, but when you say I have an 'agenda' or imply that I want us to fail or hate FPP etc, it's just bollocks and a low blow by someone when there is no reason for it. I want FPP to take us over, I think they've got a great deal, but I also don't think Donald was somehow at fault for them not buying us outright.

No I'm not, you're back to making things up.

Dozens, on these forums, have said they never wanted to buy us and never will ...

... absolutely dozens.

You don't think Donald was at fault but that's just more guesswork.

You've switched from hounding Donald to death, over two forums, to declaring him blameless.

Quite some turnaround.

You seem absolutely insistent that FPP never wanted to buy us outright and dismiss any evidence to the contrary including Donald introducing the new owners to the club's manager ....

... that seems like an agenda to me.

Again, black and white. Why can't I criticise Donald for his financial acumen but say that he didn't get this wrong.

I haven't made anything up. You simply have no idea how to be civil when your back is up.

Civil?

You need to take a step back and look at yourself.

My back isn't up, I just find your relentless speculation, posted as facts, quite tiresome. As for black and white, you keep insisting FPP have never made a bid despite all of the evidence that says they did and which you choose to ignore.

And, as ever, resorting to smilies as a grown man, seriously.

Smilies? Haway lad, what are you doing?

I've made my point. I think you're too heavily invested in one outcome. I suspect FPP will not own us in the next 9months and that's all that is pertinent to me.
