Good point and one that hadn't crossed my mind. I'll wait to see what's said before passing judgement though
Yes, but Jose had said there was no offer on the table. Now Jose has come out and asked for a move, I have no problem with Les getting his oar in.
No of course not. But two wrongs etc. Also we're always saying in public about how we're different so shouldn't stoop to it... As I said though... I'll wait until tomorrow and see what is said before I pass any particular judgement on that
No it isn't - but far different when your DoF announces it in your official twitter and to the local/national press than a few cryptic insta thingies.
Not entirely convenient. I wonder who is on our target list. As for Jose. It's his career, if he thinks he can get a better/longer deal or a new challenge he can do whatever he wishes, good luck to him. Absolutely terrible luck to Jorge Mendes though.
I don't condone Jose going public either, but being left out of the European games and being left out in others due to 'rotation', plus all the accusations from some at his 'lack of effort' this season probably grated on him. No one comes out of this clean, but I have no ill feeling towards Jose - just my personal view
I guess part of me is hoping this isn't a smoke screen from the club detracting from incoming this window. The club should know by now that we need to bring a front man in rather than focus on departures again.
Why? I love VVD, but I'm fairly certain that VVD will be handing in his own transfer request this summer.
Don't really get some of the outrage, definitely disappointing but doing it the right way and being fair to the club - even if from our point of view he seems to have changed the goalposts in the contract discussions (which was probably just leverage anyway). If the right offer doesn't come and he has a big strop then fair enough, right now he seems to be being professional. Shame he doesn't want to hang up his boots here but it's his life, and he doesn't live it by what we want unfortunately for us (especially Fran). Dunno if people expect him to be posting transcripts of every meeting on social media and explaining his every move but I guarantee the club don't want or allow him to communicate about it, even if it paints them in a better light. He's played fine this year, I know people got all up in arms when he started poorly but you can't chalk that up to transfer business. You can also put together some theories about his EL omissions and his behind-the-scenes leadership but really we have no justification to jump to conclusions. It's easiest to get angry and then view situations in a way that fits that agenda, but that just comes from raw disappointment and sadness. Sometimes I wonder if the thing with some posters is they haven't suffered any/many break-ups that have left a mark... Or they have but just didn't learn from them!
