Thanks for your service, but if he's behind the unrest in the dressing room then I cant say I'll be too sad to see him go. Great player still at his age but certainly replaceable. I think he's been stropping since the summer, and has used a 'fall out' with Puel to cover himself. Can't see a recovery from this, and he needs to be sold. But, we can't realistically go into the rest of the season with just Yoshi and VVD as CBs and therefore we MUST now prioritise buying a CB.
Possible, he has time left on his contract, we dont have to sell - the way I see it is we are in the driving seat.

He wouldn't have handed in a transfer request unless an offer had been made and turned down. We must have turned an offer down in the summer as well...otherwise, why the strop. We've had the best of him, so no point in holding on IF we have a replacement or are happy with what we've got. We have Matip who is class and Klavan as cover plus a youngster if we really are desperate, we wont be in for him. Which is a nice change.
Highly doubt anyone would be daft enough to pay the supposed £15m that we are after. He really isn't worth that much at this stage in his career, he has already began his natural decline. Only place that money would come from is, as someone jokingly suggested, China. But the Chinese tend to prefer attacking players when purchasing from abroad as they are only allowed a select few foreign players.
