It's funny really, a lot of folk disagreeing with taking a knee, getting really wound up about it. Guess what, thats what is should do, thats society chipping away at you, maybe slowly, but chipping away, forcing you to challenge your own views and self reflect. For some it will force them in the other extreme direction and they will be outed, they will cause a fuss on the way but thats just just part of the process.
I don't get the argument that it is divisive if you're not racist. I appreciate there are people who are not racist disagreeing. For instance I sympathise with those that come from bad backgrounds and haven't had a fair shake in life, those that probably share a lot of the struggles black communities face yet are ignored and have nobody standing up for them. However, If there is a division, and you're not racist, then what is the division? Those that support an anti racism gesture Vs those that think politics doesn't belong in football? I don't buy it, thats hardly a division that should worry society, so it must be something else wether you want to admit it or not. Im still not necessarily suggesting racism, maybe you feel attacked as a white man and it forces a defensive reaction or maybe you just don't like players knees getting dirty?
Whichever it is, it's all aimed at you.
