I just pointed out that if that was the case then the employers haven’t read or understood what the rules are.

Local BBC headlines last night, 'Covid rates triple in Hull in a week'. Its gone from 3 to 9. More people caught syphilis last week.

I will try to explain. Hull has less cases of proven Covid 19 then it has cases of syphilis. I typed that slowly so you could understand it.

Is the rate of infection of syphilis cases greater in the last week than the rate of Covid infection over the same period?

it’s exponential maths. Even if you start from a low number, if you keep doubling or tripling every week then we’ll then be at a big number of cases soon. Look at the graphs on the bbc, the shape of the curve for hospitalisations is beginning to tick up again, like it did in Feb/March.

whether that’s enough to refuse permission for the trial at the KCOM is another debate, but if the decision was taken solely on increase in infection rate I can see why they came to that conclusion.

It would be interesting to know by way of comparison what the infection rates are in the places where people were allowed in.
