going to have to agree to disagree here. Old mulsanne is a beastly track however, and with a beastly car in the Mazda 787b it's unbridled joy
I'm more partial to the Nissan R92CP with a Japanese car

been on some linked up simulators a year or so ago, £35 for approx 20 mins (10mins quali, 10 mins racing) was good fun, except when I got rebooted before the start and smashed my head on the frame when the hydraulics reset. I found the ride a bit too smooth tbh, and took a 2 or 3 laps to get used to powering out of the hairpin, needless to say I ripped everyone a new one (pole by 3 secs, lapped the field in the race) but, tbh, I prefer spending the money going Karting at Buckmore (especially when it's wet)

Not wanting to sound like I am from the Turn 10 promotion division, as far as accessible race simulation goes I have yet to come across something that beats the Forza series of games for the Xbox, especially their latest installment.
Cosi if you ever have the chance to give it a go I suggest you try it out. If you have a chance to have a go with a wheel and pedals even better as they have a clutch manual options now for those who want to give heel-toe clutch work a go.
Great insight to car set up as you customise car upgrades for grip circuits v power circuits, then set up the car through all manner of adjustments e.g. camber, ride height, gear ratios, tyre pressure, damper stiffness etc. They enlisted Pirelli in their development of their physics model for their tyres Forza 4.
I'm not a big fan of turn 10 themselves as they shafted me for a DLC code for Forza 3 and they are Nazis on their forum (I'm still in premod) but the quality of their product is impressive.
Interesting Silver.
The Mercedes C9 was a hell of a car but rather heavy on fuel, I think. Knowing the degree of realism is only possible by direct comparison with the real thing, of course, but are you able to progress through other models you are more familiar with, so as to get a fuller appreciation of its realism?
I know this is a difficult (if not impossible) question to answer, but if you are able to make a comparison with something you are familiar with to begin with, it should be possible to progress up through various models in order to get a sense of it.
What do you reckon?
You can do all that on Gt5, only with more parameters. I have both GT5 and Forza4, and i find GT5 to be more realistic, Forza to be more fun.

Will try it tonightwish I had had a capture card so could post the results on youtube
1,031 horse power.... Is that smart to use all that in this thing?
If you want to try what a Mercedes C9 feels like get a Bertone Mantide and do it up to the maximum with some really high gears and see if you can keep that ****er in a straight line.
Best I got out of it was 260mph down Le Mans.
*edit: 262mph now.*

That sounds good Miggins; you're clearly quicker than average and must have some talent.
Have you ever had a go in a single seater (car, not kart)? A Formula Ford for example? - Even the old, basic, 1600cc 4 speed Van Diemen is great fun when you know everyone is in the same car. Earlier versions are very cheap to buy, although you'll need a reasonable budget for a season's racing.

Ooh baby! Would love an LMP runaround. Still want my Vette C6R however
Is there a R90CK in it too, Silver?I'm more partial to the Nissan R92CP with a Japanese car

I'll fight you for it. (Good to see the #4 car win again on saturday too, they must have the championship sown up soon).

In 1990, Blundell was 227mph at the speed trap on his pole lap – down by about 25mph before the introduction of chicanes. During qualy, his engine had a fault. Power was down by about 10%, but was otherwise estimated at a monstrous 1100bhp! A well driven simulation without the fault (a wastegate related problem) a should see about 235mph just before braking but about 260mph if properly geared without the chicanes, as it was a low-downforce chassis. (significantly more speed than this is unrealistic). The Sauber Mercedes and Mazda 787B were in the same sort of territory; but like you, I've always liked the Lola chassis used by Nissan.
[edit: I've just read BLS' post claiming 262mph, which sounds exactly right without the chicanes!]
