I don't remember that. I seem to remember (rightly or wrongly) his name appeared out of nowhere and he was signed a day or 2 after.

I remember the usual names appearing. Howe, Benitez, Bielsa, Sampaoli etc back then.

No the caddy tip was at least a couple of weeks before he signed.....I had put £100 at 4/1 at the time the rumour came out:

Would need to be £100 million well spent. Will it go out on players like VvD or players like Cedric?

Well most likely 30-40 million will get wasted on ****e, but the rest will be well spent. Even adding just 60 million worth of talent would make Everton a very, very good team.

Personally I think a few of their squad are overrated (particularly those off with England) but sure, if they can replace their striker with a top, top name they could be good.

If Koeman is their boss, I hope it all goes horribly wrong.

The same board that got bashed just a couple of pages back for making a statement about Koeman negotiations going well and suggested they should have kept quiet, now getting stick for keeping quiet.

Damned if they do and damned if they don't.

Not bashed by me I think! That was still a reasonable point of view though, if the negotiations were going well at the time that's fair enough to say so. Things can change very quickly as we well know, we are still none the wiser because we aren't actually being told anything, I think that is a bit disrespectful to genuine fans, they can tell us we can keep a secret.

Some people can't bear to hear the board criticised. You can query an action without stating the board is ****. Please don't be so touchy.

They are a good board but it would be naive to say they never make mistakes.

I genuinely don't think the board have got much wrong (never said never). Certainly not the big decisions. I find it petty and narrow minded of people to hit out at the board (as several have on here, many times) spouting crap like they will stop our progression when all they have done for 7 years is progress this club forward massively.

It has nothing to do with not bearing to hear criticism of the board, but everything to do with being level headed, sensible and looking at the bigger picture. The way some people react and lay blame, is quite frankly daft. If we had bobbed around for 7 years, then full justification. To question things like whether a board should have been quiet in the media or making statements and making them out to be poor, is narrow minded, when you look at how well our club is run... by The Board

Those that don't like the factual and pointed defence of the board are the ones, in my opinion, who are being touchy. Your hashtag is just daft. The simple fact people post an opinion on a forum, should give them reason to expect a response.

Beddy, do you think the "stumbling block" has anything to do with it? Or is it all about the money if he goes?

Cant get much information unfortunately.....What I can tell you is that Saints felt they had a done deal.........Something aint quite right about all this it does stink of tapping up or something.............all will come out in the wash no doubt.
