Not commenting is a bit naive and shows a lack of comprehension of what is going on within the fan base, it needs a statement of some sort to put the record straight, not that the bedwetters will believe a word that is said anyhow.

They are trying to flush the bad man (or his agent, or Everton spokesperson) out to comment on the "issue."

Nah, there is a time to make public pronouncements, and this ain't it. It's up to the perpetrators of villainy to be the first to go public.

Anyway, I expect the lawyers to have the next word from our end.

Disagree. If koeman now speaks to Everton and leaves, the compo will be greater because we did not give permission. He could still stay, in which case any statement made now would look foolish. Ball's in koemans court now - club do not need to comment, just react to his decision.

Can't agree with you there. I think Koeman has already left and Saints getting a new manager in will drag on for weeks and weeks with loads of really stupid names being mentioned before someone is finally appointed.
I was quoting stuff they said when Koeman came in. They've had a list of replacments since he started! They will have learned from Poch leaving not to be caught off-guard & any change of manager will be like Adkins leaving - replacement ready to go. That latest tweet from BBC Solent is us delaying until a new manager is lined up IMO. After all, he's still under contract & he can only go when we say so.
If he's not signed a new contract or left by season start, he'll be replaced by season end - I'm willing to bet on that.

Meanwhile we have to put up with pages and pages of bedwetting speculation and twitter going ballistic on innuendo and hearsay, who said the end of the Season would see some peace and quiet?

Actually agree with Andy Jacobs on Talk Sport.
Think RK will need a lot more than £100 million plus to make Everton a top 6 team, especially if Lukalu / Stone etc leave, so no difference to the Southampton situation of players leaving but we are already top 6?

The same board that got bashed just a couple of pages back for making a statement about Koeman negotiations going well and suggested they should have kept quiet, now getting stick for keeping quiet.

Damned if they do and damned if they don't.

Sky reporting he is in talks with Everton. After all his pronouncements that he will be honouring his contract I say stuff any compo and hold him to the contract. Would then love to see Everton do even worse next season with no European qualifications again and many millions wasted.

Crook just said on Talk Sport.

# 2 year deal put to Koeman by saints which he was happy with, so went on holiday to let his agent deal with the finer details.

So only thing it can be about is money?

Copying me again....

You must have a different Sky to me then because I just sat and watched a live interview from Goodison Park, reading an Everton statement said they couldn't talk to Koeman yet because he was Southampton manager and they hadn't had permission.

That was me a few pages back talking about keeping quiet until information is concrete. I think the exact same here, no need to add further fuel to what is already a blazing fire. Let the process come to an end, don't give up of course but don't talk publicly about it, and then release a statement.

"It's a touchy subject"

The quote can be used for anything!
