He's always done that. The difference is that he had Sterling bombing around and pulling defenders out of position, and often going long for him.
Huge ask for Watkins to slip straight in.
Just need more width, balance and pace to stretch teams to give him the room to operate in.

He's had a mammoth season for Real and has played a fair amount of football since he was 16yr old. This is his 3rd tournament for England and he's only 20yr old.
Zero chance Southgate starts with that side/formation. Literally no chance.
