Would rather Wharton but Gallagher is fine. As long as it isn't Jude dropping deeper I don't mind, he would be absolutely wasted there.
For me it either had to be Gordon in on the left wing or a change at left back.

8 years in the job and he hasn't nailed down his best 11 and formation going into probably his last chance at winning the tournament.
Can you honestly say he's succeeded with the squad he has + some of the draws he had at the WC and Euros? His tactics and lack of decision making cost him a Euro home win.

I can remember being at Roker Park as a kid and someone referring to Peter Davenport as the "nearly man".
I just feel that's what GS will be remembered like Mowbray will be.
Boring, bland and bottle the big games. Should have been peddled after we lost the WC final against an Italy side there for the taking. He's had 2 tournaments too many.
It was the Euros we lost to Italy.
First world cup he got beat twice off Belgium and Croatia in the Semis.
Kane missed the penalty in the other WC resulting on us going out to France.

Before the next England game let’s sack Southgate and replace him with Brendon McCallum. To replace the current negative football style we can replace it with footballs ‘Bazball’ style. One at the back, one in midfield and eight up front. Sure would be very interesting to watch

At least we would have a plan and know what we were trying to do.
