I know I have knocked the bloke but totally accept this.

If England win tonight against The Netherlands, Gareth Southgate will be called ‘lucky.’ If England lose, Gareth Southgate will be called ‘useless.’ Gareth can’t f****** win, and knows this.
Now, imagine taking your team to three semi-finals in four tournaments, imagine being your country’s most successful manager in terms of knockout results, and then imagine also having to prepare yourself and your players for this game knowing that you’re already doomed in the public eye before a single ball has been kicked.
England expects? No. England is insane.

I'm less interested in winning than I am in playing football the nation can get excited by and be proud about.

I've stayed up for one of the five games we have played in this tournament and it was enough to tell me what this team is about just is not for me. I'm OK with that.

The problem begins when you have people with similar views to me, then people who think the opposite and just want to win, and people who are just miserable ****s and will go out of their way to slag off anything and everything they can.
 
I’ll try and post some pics in Ibiza later - bricking it now like and my daughters have made me swear that when we win the final I have to get an England tattoo (I don’t have any) with Ibiza 2024 on it
