The bridges seem to have been burned between the Club and HCST, so perhaps a sub group could be created to facilitate talks?

There could be the main group, and the Olive Branch.

I reckon we have the makings of the logo.

I'm sure the Trust would welcome someone trying to step in front of them if it benefited the fan base.

Lol JK!

I still think Geoff could do a good job. It would be important to keep the rest away though.

I feel this article is their response to the Oliver Holt piece at the weekend hence the timing. It reads like PR spin.

His attempt to appear like a reasonable, well meaning but burdened person who just wants to sell the club and move on. He'd love to make it up with the fans but they won't talk to him. So he will just focus on keeping the club in the PL, supporting the manager and looking for a safe pair of hands to sell to.

He's better at keeping on message than his dad but a lot worse at conducting business.

I think
that they thought they'd sold the club at the start of the season. I think that's why they didn't appoint a manager or sign any players - not our problem mate. I think that when the Dais deal fell through they did the bear minimum before the window slammed shut as I think they still thought they'd be shot of us in weeks. (The "record" signing is a red herring IMHO as in the current market records are being smashed all the time).

I'm astounded that it didn't seem to occur to them that the interest would dry up if we were bottom 3 by Christmas. I think they are now panicking they won't get shot of us for a decent wedge when we go down.....

All of that is completely without supporting evidence but it's my view....

I think it's more a response to the situation he finds himself in; he knows he needs to recover his position and more, new, confidants are telling him the supporters are more important than he believed.

Yes he a a tad better at keeping on message, but not much; his business acumen appears to be zilch.

He admitted to believing the club was all but sold, hence his program notes; there's no need to think he did.

The fans did listen. For hours and hours on a Friday night at the KC in late 2013. The OSC has listened to the club obediently for much of the past few years. But with the Allams, there is no middle ground. You're either with them or against them. This has been the case at Hull City and it has been the case in the way they've gone about things for decades. They make good friends and horrible enemies. There have been many occasions where dialogue would have been possible, where compromise might have been reached, but the Allams weren't for shifting. It's cost them CEOs, it's cost them trusted advisors, but still they plough on. I didn't read anything in the article that would suggest any form of compromise or even listening to the fans. We have to listen to Ehab. That's all.

Bang on.

There's was no evidence any of the groups outside of the Dais had actual cash or that they'd be better for our club either short or long term.

There's been no evidence about what went wrong either apart from the usual "present hearsay and conjecture" as facts bunch.

There's no evidence that Chien Lee has got any actual cash and would be better for the club?

You mean apart from the fact that he's got a net worth of £1.2b and has been a brilliant owner at OGC Nice?

Peter Grieve walked away from a deal with us, having had an agreed price reneged on three times, the failure of that deal had absolutely nothing to do with its funding.

The Yorkshire Post article hints, and no more than hints, that dialogue is possible. Supporters representatives listening to Ehab Allam speaking is a small price to pay in the grand scheme of things even if it results in us being no further forward. It may, and I repeat, may, result in a way forward being found.

“I had a meeting after one game attended by people interested in buying the club and the first question was: ‘What is the problem with the fans? Do they not like foreign owners?’

Thank goodness those alleged suitors didn't succeed ! Didn't do their homework did they Ehab ?
Are these incompetents born liars ? Do they think the rest of the world outside their coccooned realism are so unaware of the issues ?
Bloody amazing.

I'd love to know how he answered that question...

You'd be flabbergasted at what people on here can object to! No you really would. And some of them are arguing the exact opposite within 5 posts and swearing they're not on a semantic technicality. I'm sticking to opinions and avoiding facts its safer.....that's an opinion by the way not a fact.

That's just your opinion. Where's the evidence the Allams weren't concerned about how Peter Grieve intended to fund the purchase?

Link to official source of that info for Grieve?

Link to same for what went wrong with Chien?

A wasted opportunity for Ehab if he really did want to have some kind of dialogue with fans

Imagine if he'd admitted to making some mistakes especially concerning the membership scheme and concessions

Wouldn't make any difference with some.

A full written apology, change of name on social media and the reintroduction of concessions wouldnt move some. Notably directors of the Trust and some members.

Shame some can be so intransigent really.

What a ridiculous claim.

<laugh> If you chose to believe that I didn't actually know what was going on with some of these deals, that's entirely up to you.

You know perfectly well there's no official link, just as I can't provide a link to the conversation I had with my missus about what we're having for tea tonight.

You don't half post some ridiculous bollocks.

The Trust posted an open letter to Ehab in August 2015, imploring him to put the name change behind us and engage in open dialogue with the fans. They've regularly made that offer again since and I'm sure it will be reiterated in response to this article.

It will be ignored.

Everything you say is correct; but now there is a need for a sale, a desire for a sale, and the owners jave an incentive to listen.

I always thought the OSC was a noble, but flawed supporter effort, led by that muppet, Mooney; but tell me, what is there to lose by the Trust making a well consider, and controlled, conciliatory move to test reaction?

Edit: Sorry, I meant the ad hoc group invited by the club, many off here.

So you're actually stating that the Trust has no directors and no members who want rid of the Allams regardless of what happens now and who are not prepared to forget and move on?

Kinell.

I've repeatedly said I think, and in fact hope, Geoff can do something. It'd be best to keep the pitchfork waving dribblers away mind.

The sort that would turn up fully kitted out in AllamOut attire.
