Right that’s me done. Just had Covid booster (Pfizer) after my initial AZ. I really do not like injections and medical buildings. They didn’t even give me a sticker for being brave! I took the dog for a walk this morning seeing the usual walkers and they all said how they had a bad booster effect. :emoticon-0107-sweat Great. So that made me nervous before I went in.

That is so interesting and explains a lot

It replicates in the bronchioles rather than the lung itself....much much faster than delta beta or alpha.

Not much we can do...except get boosters and take care of ourselves..and in that way take care of others

I suppose we really need to know whether the differences reduce, have no impact on, or increase the chances of a cytokine storm.

Evidence from South Africa that those with omicron only a third as likely to end up in hospital. But we are told to ignore this data for some reason.

In London a third of people haven’t had any jabs at all.

Daughter had her Moderna booster yesterday morning, got a bit hot last night but fine today. Boys turn tomorrow. That’s as much as we can do, I think.

I will mate. I took a tablet an hour before and will do so for every 4 hrs until tomorrow. I didn’t feel the injection and it’s been 2 hours and seem okay I keep thinking my arm feels weaker but that maybe me. As I am a chicken with this sort of stuff.
When I say they had to drag me in there… just imagine many volunteers pushing me in. :emoticon-0102-bigsm My Mrs called me a “big girl”.

I will add something ( and this is not political)
I asked why I was having Pfizer and not AZ again?
He said because the U.K. had ordered more Pfizer and there wasn’t enough AZ.
Now this gets me thinking…:emoticon-0138-think I have seen the news and the mixing of AZ/Pfizer results from Isreal.
However…
Are we mixing because we don’t have enough AZ or is it because of the protection value?
And
Why aren’t AZ doing boosters?

Had mine this morning, was expecting Pfizer but ended up with Moderna after having AZ for initial jabs....... was told to expect a sore arm for a couple of days and maybe feeling a bit tired....... If that's the only problems then I can cope with that.........

Stay safe all......

To add to this I heard that the booster should be different to vaccines as a combination gives better protection.

Had my BioNTech/Pfizer booster about a week ago, no side-effects at all, barely a sore arm. However, after my second jab with the same vaccine some 5-months ago, had a really bad sore arm, and I mean swollen, for about 5-days after shot. Did not feel so good either. Anyway, got over it in the end.

I should add that for senior citizens over 65,the Sanofi/Aventis 'flu vaccine is apparently well worthwhile, and very powerful, namely, Fluzone High-Dose Quadrivalent, marketed in Europe under the name Efluelda .

Not recommended for anyone below this age, although Sanofi/Aventis are working hard to produce a suitable 'flu vaccine for younger folk.

I have a feeling we may be ****ed.
I think the important figure is the % of those infected who end up in hospital. For delta, the most ‘serious’ variant to date, it was 2.3% of unvaccinated people.

It’s from now on we’ll start to see changes in the hospitalisation rate, if there are any.

Professor Furguson saying that if you have had Covid A or D variant you only have 20% protection from new one.
Great :emoticon-0108-speec

Well, I was wrong about this. The hospitalisation figure is important but the thing that could bugger up our Christmas is the sensational numbers of people off work. Cue supply chain chaos, lack of staff in health and social care (already 10% absence at St Tommy’s) etc etc.

Balls.

Whitty urges caution over Christmas plans, Johnson says do as you please.

Tory MP Joy Morrissey says the electorate have decided that Johnson is more of an expert in these matters than Whitty.

It’s amazing there’s always another Tory backbencher you haven’t heard of ready to make a complete **** of themselves.

Not heard from the Chancellor for a while.
