Bit of a car crash interview by Gillian. She should know her s##t before going on TV

It's embarrassing Ellers. I find it difficult to understand that if you have just one job that you can't get it right? From the waitress taking your order for Sunday lunch to the Government minister, know your stuff. In the fire service we had to undertake so many disciplines that we trained everyday to try and deliver the best service we could. Standards are everything. At least get the basics right.

Agree mate and it's the same with me when working I am 100% on it. It does sadden me how these ministers keep making stupid gaff's especially when they should know basic information.

Totally bang on. These ministers (including shadow ministers) should at least hold some relative experience to the department they serve. My bro in law left my plastering firm 2 years ago to train to become a firefighter. He didnt just walk into the ****in job but trained hard and still does daily as 9's will know. Now i have nothing against Javid our health sec but isnt he from a banking background ffs. Surely common sense would have someone in place with a health background. As with labour, why isnt that Dr khan good looking woman shadow health sec, she works on the front line!

Im not sure what you do for a living Ellers but i presume that just like the rest of us, if you were either **** at your job or kept making mistakes then you wouldnt be in it for long. Politics is definately an area where failure is rewarded.

Like most I can’t afford to be S##t. As I said earlier, she should be better than that. Their jobs are bloody hard and they have to think fast all the time and be careful what they say… however she needed to know that simple information.

She's my MP. I think she's competent, but Kay Burley would like nothing better than to pull her to pieces on air, so as you say, she needs to be much better prepared.
Yeah I have lost respect for Burley and Rigby after they spent weeks castigating every Tory MP over COVID then broke all the rules going to 2 restaurants and dancing on the bar while the rest of us obeyed the rules.
Agree Gillian is normally good to listen to.

They got punished for that.

Perhaps the people in charge should be held to a higher standard than journalists rather than being completely unaccountable.
