As I said earlier unlike some I always what English teams to do well in European competition. I have seen a lot of amazing games over the years, but these 2 semifinals are right up there. For both Liverpool & Spurs to turn round near impossible position is just quite amazing. Great credit to both teams, and to have 2 English clubs in the final it brilliant for English football and EPL.

P.S. June could be a brilliant month for English football, an English Champions league winner, and if England can win their games in Portugal, it could be an outstanding month.

Like you, I want to see English teams do well in Europe. In addition the ECL and the Nations League, there is the possibility of another all-English final in the Europa League.

Has this and the Liverpool result got something to do with Brexit?
What odds for Chelsea v Arsenal Europa League final? Then we can have three English cup finals back-to-back in May/June.
Nothing to do with Brexit
I have it on very good authority that it’s actually been deliberately organised as a conspiracy against TWS to make sure there’s yet another English name on a European Champions trophy before they get anywhere near one.

Yep, it's never happened before.

European Cup/Champions League finals:

1999/2000 - Real Madrid vs. Valencia
2002/2003 - A.C. Milan vs. Juventus
2007/2008 - Manchester United vs. Chelsea
2013/2014 - Real Madrid vs. Atletico Madrid
2015/2016 - Real Madrid vs. Atletico Madrid

UEFA Cup/Europa League finals:

1971/1972 - Tottenham Hotspur vs. Wolverhampton Wanderers
1979/1980 - Eintracht Frankfurt vs. Borussia Monchengladbach
1989/1990 - Juventus vs. Fiorentina
1990/1991 - Internazionale vs. Roma
1994/1995 - Parma vs. Juventus
1997/1998 - Internazionale vs. Lazio
2006/2007 - Sevilla vs. Espanyol
2010/2011 - Porto vs. Braga
2011/2012 - Atletico Madrid vs. Athletic Bilbao
He meant BOTH finals from the same league in the SAME year, and as he posted it hasn’t happened before.

I know, that's why I posted the examples of times that all-nation finals have happened, and that none of them are in the same season?

The first sentence of my post was "Yep, it's never happened before.".
But you never Quill, you posted either one competition or the other, in different seasons, you never once quoted both competitions in the same season, hence from your post you couldn’t tell whether both finals in the same season had involved four teams from the same league.

It’s really not an issue, we all misread things at times.

Misunderstand in your case. No overlap in the two lists should explain the point being made.

As it stands, Man City, Liverpool and Chelsea have already qualified for next seasons Champions League, with Spurs due to be confirmed for finishing fourth.

If Arsenal win the Europa League they will also join the above making five Prem League teams in next seasons tournament! If Chelsea win then the third placed team in this seasons French League qualify!

Next seasons Europa League Arsenal?, Man Utd plus the team finishing 7th Wolves

Would like to see Wolves in Europe. Coming up to the top tier and qualifying for Europe the following season has been done before but is a lot more difficult proposition nowadays since the advent of the PL.

Methinks you've answered the wrong poster ?

I had a look at the rules earlier, they just changed. If English teams won the champions league and europa league, and didn’t finish high enough to qualify through the league, England could have 5 in the champions league and 4 in the Europa League, for a total of 9 teams in Europe.
