Here you go ellewoods - I remember you responding to me for the same question Plum just asked.
Likewise Erik's question fron Dec 22 2012

Erik asked:

Ellewoods, in spite of our earlier spat I'd like to ask you a question. Are you a City fan because you are originally from the East Riding, because of friends/family who are from the area, or because you were a fan of football anyway and just happened to realise that we're the greatest club in the land?

ellewoods response:

I have friends who are from Hull. Which is kinda how I became a fan. I am a huge spots fan and one of the sports I have always followed was english football (hockey and baseball as well). My buddies and I would go to bars on Sunday and Saturday mornings to the irish or english pubs to watch. Everyone I knew was a fan of fulham, man u or arsenal. Around 2006 I decided that I wanted to follow my own team as opposed to just cheering for whoever I felt like that week. One of my friends at work was from England and I was telling him this vision I had for a team and city that I would support. I had actually thought a lot about who I wanted to support because with me the decision to support a team really would be a life long decision. I listed off all these qualities and criteria to him for this imaginary team I had. After a couple minuets of me talking he said that strangely enough the team I wanted to support was his team and the city he was from. So he sent me a couple forum links wished me years of disappointment like he had had, he gve me the clubs website and I bought setanta and started watching. So I am probably the only person who actually picked to support city, and who picked them before 2008.

Sorry for going off on you. I dont know why that comment irked me. Apologies.
There it is. Once like in 08 after I was asked I posted the actual list of qualities that I had wrote down, it even went into the social and economic stats of the city, age of the club etc my imaginary club played in. It was pretty long, I posted that on Amber nectar though or in a message to someone there I don't remember. This question comes up all the time.

I don't find big Vern as painful as when some on here are arguing and carrying on for a couple of pages. It's handbags at 10 paces kind of stuff . Big Vern = harmless

I agree, I skip over it. This Karl poster is even more obviously on the wind up than the relatively harmless Vern one and to be roped into it is a waste of time. All spats here aren't worth reading anyway and clog the board up. There must be an ignore function for people.

This thread basically contains two thirds of the entire board now, transfer news, banter, insults, reminiscences. It's all here.

I blame OLM.

Isaac Hayden has signed
Where did you get that name you wally
You are a twat
I remember when Waggy and Chilton were up front for us.

I also blame OLM.

Did I pass the test?

He added: “We think Moses is a very good player and it's a difficult position. There's not a lot of good right backs so I think it's possible to come to a Premier League club.

“We're patient with that. He wants to go and I respect that as he said it's a big opportunity for him.

Editorial comment from me:
That comment your friend from Hull made "wished me years of disappointment like he had had" should have given you insight into the sardonic sense of humour of lads from Hull.
Happy Yorkshire Day !

I like this ellwood character, he fits right in with our support.
I've no doubts that if Allam is forced out, and we're left in the **** - which we will be have no doubt.
ellwood will still be there in spirit, with the other 5000 supporting us in the basement.

Think he's trying to drum up some interest. If a premier league comes in, Brentford will get more money and wont have to sell to a rival

I also agree. Vern's posts are virtually flawless w.r.t. grammar, vocabulary, punctuation and spelling -- far better than most of those that complain about him -- and I suspect we'll soon see him elevate his content. Karl, on the other hand, is virtually illiterate. Vern must be quite annoyed this punk has jumped on his bandwagon. Please ban Karl, but keep Vern. You know it makes sense.
