If Brown does sign how long until the dreaded curse of the Hull City striker gets him. We have seen it numerous times before - world beater to zero within months. Hernandez anyone
I can't see that happening. He is a DP with Chicago so his salary isn't counted towards their salary cap meaning there is no financial need to let him leave. He only joined them this year and I doubt they would want him to leave right before the playoff push. Chicago has 3 DP players so at first look they would have to get rid to get a new one but with that sorta 4th DP slot they created by the free money the league is giving each club I believe that total would cover Maloneys salary so he isn't really taking up a slot and is free to Chicago if one looks at it that way. They wanted Drogba which didn't happen so possibly they made some calls saying he may be available and that's the whisper he is hearing but since they didn't get him I can't see them letting him go. On the positive side if he could do a job with us his salary is chump change (if the salary I am seeing is correct, it's hard to know as it takes a year or so before new players show up on the financials) for a club like us and the transfer fee would be almost nothing since he is not a famous player.
I don't find big Vern as painful as when some on here are arguing and carrying on for a couple of pages. It's handbags at 10 paces kind of stuff . Big Vern = harmless
I've posted that story a few times I'll try to find it and send you the link in a day or two I'm on an iPad and the girlfriend has people over so I can't use the computer in the office. If I forget just remind me.
Would be good if Chuba Akpom and Isaac Hayden had "loan deals with the option to buy" agreements with city
Here you go ellewoods - I remember you responding to me for the same question Plum just asked. Likewise Erik's question fron Dec 22 2012 http://www.not606.com/threads/team-for-leicester-city.185914/#post-3960089 Erik asked: Ellewoods, in spite of our earlier spat I'd like to ask you a question. Are you a City fan because you are originally from the East Riding, because of friends/family who are from the area, or because you were a fan of football anyway and just happened to realise that we're the greatest club in the land? ellewoods response: I have friends who are from Hull. Which is kinda how I became a fan. I am a huge spots fan and one of the sports I have always followed was english football (hockey and baseball as well). My buddies and I would go to bars on Sunday and Saturday mornings to the irish or english pubs to watch. Everyone I knew was a fan of fulham, man u or arsenal. Around 2006 I decided that I wanted to follow my own team as opposed to just cheering for whoever I felt like that week. One of my friends at work was from England and I was telling him this vision I had for a team and city that I would support. I had actually thought a lot about who I wanted to support because with me the decision to support a team really would be a life long decision. I listed off all these qualities and criteria to him for this imaginary team I had. After a couple minuets of me talking he said that strangely enough the team I wanted to support was his team and the city he was from. So he sent me a couple forum links wished me years of disappointment like he had had, he gve me the clubs website and I bought setanta and started watching. So I am probably the only person who actually picked to support city, and who picked them before 2008. Sorry for going off on you. I dont know why that comment irked me. Apologies. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Editorial comment from me: That comment your friend from Hull made "wished me years of disappointment like he had had" should have given you insight into the sardonic sense of humour of lads from Hull. Happy Yorkshire Day !
