I could prove that i knew about palacios yesterday but i cant be bothered lol enjoying being the villian haha![]()
You don't need to prove that, given that we all knew about it yesterday.

For me, the hype around Robertson and the big money is because of his attacking ability. Defensively, he is not as good as Brady and seems almost a liability at times. I don't know why Bruce hasn't yet played him in a more advanced position.
Gosh - It's been common knowledge since 2 seasons ago -that Bruce was asking Palacios to bolster the squad....I can prove I knew about it the day before yesterday, it was posted on this thread on Sunday([HASHTAG]#2921[/HASHTAG]).![]()

Yep. I was going on Ellewoods post that it was him.No, he didn't.
It was his brother Johnny Palacios that played.

Indeed, we tried to buy him two years ago for £1.5m, but Stoke weren't willing to take that big a hit on their £6m investment.
That's my fault I had assumed it was Wilson not knowing he had a brother. So let's not sign his brother then! The announcers kept referring to the Hondurus players by their last name only.Yep. I was going on Ellewoods post that it was him.
going to play against Ferriby on Friday apparently. Lets hope he's fit and healthy, would be a great signing if he is.
No worries. Think the chances of us signing him are pretty slim but its worth a look. I imagine we'll have a few other triallists coming in. Think of the players Bruce and Phelan will know well. That's my fault I had assumed it was Wilson not knowing he had a brother. So let's not sign his brother then! The part about Philly taking Wilson on trial and then not offering him a contract because they said he did not impress their coaching staff is still correct. So I still don't want to sign a player a poor MLS team says isn't good enough for them.
Sigh. You keep repeating this Championship player nonsense with various players. If they play well in the PL they're PL players. Quinn, just like Macca, Bruce and others, did just that.
And yes, he did create more than Livermore and Huddlestone.
Yea that's true. He spent a month on trial with Philly which is a long time to not be offered a contract. Perhaps it was an issue with him wanting a DP level contract and that's why they didn't offer him one. If that was the issue I still don't want him as most DP players in the MLS aren't good enough to make our squad. No worries. Think the chances of us signing him are pretty slim but its worth a look. We had ***an and Hughes training with us the other year, came to nowt.
Damian DelaneyWell it depends on your point of view. You could say that because they're playing for a team in the Premier League then they're PL players. But we know that isn't true.
Bradford's run to the League Cup final saw them beat 3 Premier League sides (Wigan, Arsenal and Villa), a Championship side (Watford) and a League One side (Notts County). Their whole team played well in every game, so did that mean that their squad was full of Premier League quality players? Or was it that they were in fact League 2 quality, but showed a lot of commitment and effort?
Quinn was a handy player to have and he did his best when called upon, but no way is he talented enough to be a regular, consistently quality Premier League midfielder. Had Diame been fit, he (Quinn) would have spent most of the season on the bench being used as an impact player. Similarly, when it became public knowledge that his contract was about to expire, he ended up going to a Championship club. As did McShane and Rosenior and I assume the same will happen to Bruce Jnr.
It's not to say they're bad players, because they aren't, but their ability levels aren't enough to be classed as Premier League quality. We were blighted with injuries and suspensions last season so we had to plug the gaps with players like Meyler, Bruce, Quinn and McShane. If they were PL quality players, we wouldn't have struggled so much, but because we had to rely on Championship level players, that's where we ended up. Fair play to them for stepping up to the plate and having a go at keeping us up, but even they knew their own limits and it's probably one of the reasons why they didn't turn down those Championship contract offers to wait for PL interest.
