People whingeing about missing Gray and slating the club really need to take into account what we already have. A club our size with our financial muscle simply cannot risk the real possibility of having Jelavic, Hernandez AND Gray post the window closing and then not getting promoted. It simply cannot be done. And I don't care what anyone says, signing a player does not guarantee promotion. Derby probably thought getting Ince on loan when top of the league would for them.
If we had sold either Jelavic or Abel then Gray would now be ours. But we didn't and he isn't, and the club have done the right thing.
I don't see how anyone can't see this for what it is.
Do people want us to risk financial meltdown?
Do they want us to ignore more pressing key weaknesses in the squid?
As it is, our current frontline is more than good enough for this level. Some may get their contracts bought out (Jelavic possibly but I hve my doubts), if they do we've a lot of money to play with. Andre Gray isn't the only player able to score goals. He was the obvious choice and nothing more.
There's no love lost for the Allms but they're damned if they do, damned if they don't. If this was Paul Duffen running the club and he'd gone and spent almost £10m on striker in our current circumstances, everyone would be ****ting their pants and calling his carelessness.
