I don't see how anyone can't see this for what it is. Do people want us to risk financial meltdown? Do they want us to ignore more pressing key weaknesses in the squid? As it is, our current frontline is more than good enough for this level. Some may get their contracts bought out (Jelavic possibly but I hve my doubts), if they do we've a lot of money to play with. Andre Gray isn't the only player able to score goals. He was the obvious choice and nothing more. There's no love lost for the Allms but they're damned if they do, damned if they don't. If this was Paul Duffen running the club and he'd gone and spent almost £10m on striker in our current circumstances, everyone would be ****ting their pants and calling his carelessness.
It's disappointing to miss out on Gray, but there's some really OTT comments on here. Our season does not hinge on this signing and it's like some have forgotten that we have made a good start to the season. We'll know more about what to expect from this season post 2nd September but one man does not make a team.
It's disappointing that we haven't got Gray, I think he'd have been exactly what we need, but I completely understand why it didn't happen. Cest la vie.
Bruce wanted Gray and Gray wanted to come. City wouldn't sanction a deal until another player had been sold.
Suppose it's farenough, we all wanted the club run properly so it is what it is. We carnt get rid of any of Bruce's other big signings so maybe there's something in that. Bruce needs to go away sort his midfield out, once thats sorted and the allams are convinced we really need an Andre gray they may sanction it. As it is he could have come, we don't create him any chances and he doesn't score, another £9million spunked. In January we have another ridiculously long thread about signing a striker. I know I'm getting boring but the midfield is a bigger problem than the forwards at present
I was taking a leaf out of your book. To be fair I was never gonna pull the wool over your eyes was I? I see you've being using potty words. how very asterix of you.
You've really lost it lately Ben... having to point out the relevance of your Avatar just in case the thickies didn't get it is a bit desperate. That's as bad as watching someone doing an impression of Frank Spencer by saying "Hello, I'm Frank Spencer".
He is sorting out the midfield. He's offered Super David Meyler a new contract. He was outstanding on Wednesday night.
Last time we had this level of knicker wetting was when Tom Ince moved. Early days yet, but he may think he made the wrong choice now.
Funny, I thought they were dicking us about. Why would we lend out a player we can use. If they want him they can buy him. If they can't afford to buy him they can **** off. Doesn't that seem fair?
