No news from our kid. He was fuming last night at the super league and the lass from the shop is out of bounds.

Mings went for £8m from Ipswich without any Premiership / International experience , Mings is probably a more cultured defender then Chester though but you cant help but compare the two when it comes to transfer valuations .

Hey

Let's face it there will be no blow your socks off signings. From prince to pauper in 12 short months.

Hull City star says he wants out

Hull City star Abel Hernandez has told the Italian media that he wants to return to Italy and ideally with Serie A side Torino. The Uruguay international joined Hull City last season but they were relegated to the Championship last season, and therefore the player wants out.

Calciomercato have reported on comments Hernandez made in which he said he hoped Torino would be able to sign him this summer. He believes they play good attacking football and it would be good to link up with the likes of fellow South American Maxi Lopez. The Hull City forward believes the current coach of Torino would be good for him as he remembers him during his time at Bari when Hernandez was playing for Palermo.

"It would be great if the Taurus could take me. They play great football, in recent years the attackers have always scored a lot of goals, and Ventura is a very good coach who I well remember during his days with Bari. It would be great to play with Maxi Lopez and Quagliarella, I want to return to Italy,” said the Hull City striker on his future.

Hernandez signed for Hull just before the transfer deadline last summer, but he only scored four goals in twenty Premier League games. Despite this Hernandez showed during his spell in Italy with Palermo that he could be an effective player, and his international record for Uruguay is also impressive.

Is anyone ever going to bloody bid for him,, he's been linked with pretty much every club in Serie A?

Seriously stop taking everything I say as I am saying the MLS is some amazing ****ing league. I am getting sick of it. You can read and I know you damn well know that's not what I am saying. My point is that your point about him being a full international is stupid. Being an international doesn't make them worth bucket loads of cash. I'm not saying that any cb in the MLS is as good as Chester but the idea that he is a full international and that makes him worth more is beyond stupid. Almost every cb in the top 2 leagues in England, Germany, Italy, France, Spain, the U.S. etc are full internationals. A player is worth his quality, age and the length of time left on his contract not the fact he suits up for an international team.

If we keep him, and lose out on 8 mill that's 8 mill we won't have to spend next time. We won't do that, we will sell, I don't need to be an Allam telling people to look at my CV to be right on that.
I think you should stop now or that special relationship we are supposed to have will be completely destroyed.

To be fair SydneyT, as an impartial observer, you seem to be missing ellewoods main point. You're suggesting 15m for Chester, arguing he's worth that as he's been a key player in Wales' progress recently. No denying he's helped. ellewoods is saying he doesn't think that he's worth anything close to that and even his "alleged" price value of 8m is overstated, simply because he plays for a lowly ranked international team. Where are all the suitors for his services ? He's no Gareth Bale, he's never played for a top ranked Premier League side. There are times he struggles playing for Hull City. IMHO he is overrated at 8m - Manchester United rarely let a gem leave their ranks. Neither has it anything to do with ellewoods being American.
Manchester United "let go" of the best young midfielder in the world who is now wanted by Madrid/Barca/Man City etc. Safe to say they do make mistakes

Just checking whether Pique was released - he was. Another United player that was hotly tipped for stardom has also been released in June. Tom Thorpe - with Phelan here I do wonder if he'll be on the radar at City? He's tipped for a move to the Championship and they think he'll be the next Pogba or Pique. He's a centre half so we could cash in on Chester and sign a freebie? Thorpe was the Man Utd U21s Captain, he fits the young and hungry description Bruce used until he started having a look at Taylor and Palacios.

He was mentioned on here a while ago, around the time the released lists were produced. If I remember correctly, he either had injury problems or personality problems, lacking motivation etc. Just looking around, it seems he's joined Rotherham:

Pogba just wouldn't sign a new deal as he both wanted too much money and playing time, which Manchester couldn't guarantee him at the time. He wasn't released because they didn't think he was good enough.

****ter - seems like the fat man at Rotherham has inexplicably landed a decent player. I wonder if we had our budget situation sorted out when most other clubs had, we may also have been able to sign a player of his quality.
