I thought it would depend on when the FA get the paperwork, not when it's announced on the OWS?

The OWS won't count for anything, I was just using it as official confirmation of the transfer so since none are on there the deals are probably not confirmed yet, and that should come before the paperwork shouldn't it?

Hang on, we're gonna have to bring a CM in today aren't we? Surely?

I mean, Koren and Evans are our only available midfielders and since we play 3 in away games, that isn't even enough to fill a team, never mind having enough cover. I understand Meyler is on hold and will depend on Sunderland's deals buit regardless, we still need someone don't we?

We have Oli!!!!!!

Aluko can drop into the midfield if we can work out what it is that's stopping Simpson starting.

I couldn't say for certain. Maybe the deals are confirmed when the paperwork is approved? Or maybe there is more impending transfers and OWS will announce them all at once?

Apparently Bruce has told Mike White not to expect anything to happen

Steve Bruce has told me not expecting other incoming before deadline. Enquired about Bothroyd but no more. Stewart loan not done yet #hcafc

Quinn had his medical yesterday and trained with the team last night, I expect him to be available tomorrow.

I think we'll get Meyler and possibly another loan of two, once the emergency loan window opens.

When does the emergency loan window open?

Personally I'm not comfortable with us relying on 2 midfielders for 3 positions (OLi doesn't really count) until the window re-opens. We should be getting someone today.

Especially as one of them is Evans.

Usually opens in a week's time. Not really that much of a rush, we sign them now they can't play tomorrow anyway and then we've got two weeks off.

Seems that Jay Boothroyd was our Premier League striker target, but he's turned down the deal.
Cameron Stewart loan to Burnley - until January.

No he hasn't turned us down John. Steve Bruce says that he only made an enquiry. Jay Bothroyd is going to the Wendies to link up with old Cardiff boss Dave Jones. No surprise there then.

Cammy Stewart has not gone to Burnley yet. So says Steve Bruce. Interesting whatever happens.

We can't leave the loans until next week if we want a player until January or beyond.

Yes we can leave loans until next week. Post date the deals from the 14th sept and that will take them upto almost Xmas when we should have all our players back fit and ready. Then anay we wish to keep We get them in January.

Is it just me who's sick of loans? I want players who are tied down to Hull City even if they're free agents coming in.

Plenty of fats available from next week. Loans are fine by me. If they dont work out you can send them back.

Bothroyd about to sign for the Wendies.

Wow thats a shocker - Not.

Maybe he wont in the end. Would you want to play in such an awful place as Burnley ?

SB quick to point out no urgent need to rush a deal for a striker through for the sake of it with loans possible from next week. #hcafc

Agreed. Steve Bruce knows how to play the market. next week could be que Man Utd kids arrivals.

After the Donny game, why not Simpson and McLean?

I agree. They have each scored 2 goals and deserve the chance. With Aluko and Elmo on the wings and Koren and Evans/Quinn in the middle. Against Bolton we need to go 4 - 4 - 2 and match them. imo

The free agent transfers are better for me; at least they're people with experience. A bunch of Man United kids that we'll have for a year does NOTHING to me as they'll piss off at the end of the year. If we sign King for the season and maybe even Brady again (if he hasn't signed for Wolves?) would do me just fine, as there's a good chance they'd sign for us in the summer!

Right, signing players on loan pisses you off, so you want to sign 2 players on loan. Logic?

It was quite funny when you consider how controlling SFA is meant to be, he was saying he had no idea where he was. He'd been expecting him to go to Fiorentina, then Fulham but the last he knew was he still hadn't decided to join them so he could be in Holland, Italy or Spain for all he knew.

Just in case you were worried, Berbatov has turned up safe and sound in Fulham
