I'd be intrigued to know what made him choose them over us? I also think he would have been a cracking signing.
It depends, I'd rather have a player Man U aren't sure about on a loan with a view to permanent than someone they know they don't want on a permanent.

Stewart to Burnley on Loan. Never saw that one coming. http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11095/8037264/Clarets-land-Stewart
I have a feeling that Steve Bruce has been at this game long enough, he'll have a plan A, B, C and D.
It was quite funny when you consider how controlling SFA is meant to be, he was saying he had no idea where he was. He'd been expecting him to go to Fiorentina, then Fulham but the last he knew was he still hadn't decided to join them so he could be in Holland, Italy or Spain for all he knew.
Elmohamady is still the only signing confirmed on the OWS, so Quinn presumably won't be ready in time for tomorrow nor will anyone else. Right?
The normal rule is noon on the Friday to be eligible for the weekends games. I don't know if it's different this weekend because of the FA having all the extra staff in, but if they haven't signed yet then unless it's a blow your socks off signing being on the bench is the best they're likely to be as they won't have trained with us yet.
Hang on, we're gonna have to bring a CM in today aren't we? Surely? I mean, Koren and Evans are our only available midfielders and since we play 3 in away games, that isn't even enough to fill a team, never mind having enough cover. I understand Meyler is on hold and will depend on Sunderland's deals buit regardless, we still need someone don't we?
