This is so wrong but sadly as sign of the times we find ourselves in..
Im not bad thanks mate, i think im past the worst now hopefully.
I tend to wake up feeling not too bad and get worse as the day goes on.
Another good read by your digging up some good ones lately mate, as far as this one goes i don't blame him as he will not see any young lads being grafted into the first squad no matter the injury list, How many times have we heard of playing square pegs in round holes rather than the youth, or worse mediocre loan players with no fight, i mean come on Danny Graham for round two, anyone would lose heart with the system
when you can put a useless loan player, not motivated and will not try, above a keen as mustard young player,it beggars belief
Exactly, lower league teams see our young players as prey and they throw themselves on the traps ...

we hear a lot (usually every season) about making sure the money 'filters down' to the lower leagues and grass roots football yet in reality we can all see the gaps getting wider, play for a division 3 or 4 club or take your chance at a club winning things in the premier or even champions league and to a young lad sat there reading about 250k per week wages (and all the other benefits) then it is a no brainer.
if a club is taking a chance on a kid then they should be entitled to a certain number of years service and decent compen should the big boys come knocking...i honestly have no idea exactly how much a club will put into developing a kid versus how much compen they get from a tribunal but i dare say there is quite a loss, therefore clubs should at least have some guarantee otherwise we will find academys closing down, we also need to see these lads get some guaranteed game time as well in which to prove themselves one way or the other rather than just a few U23 games, at times they must get fairly p1ssed off at not getting the chance to make that step.

Simon Jordan was on talksport this morning talking to someone involved in the “business” side of grass roots. He said they get little help from the premier league, Jordan said they are contractually obliged to give over £130m a year to fund grass roots football. This guy said he didn’t even know that, but he knows it doesn’t happen! That’s not from clubs, it from the premier league as a business.

couldn't agree more Sam you nailed it especial the compensation package there should be a minimum fee, however if the big boys start talking on the sly he will just not sign a new contract and go for EFALL like ginger Colback did to us, but got gave him justice.

was it the bosman ruling that allowed players just to be able to run a contract down?
summit like that, anyway...with the money being thrown around in transfers now that is the stupidest idea ever, football players are hardly in the same bracket as factory or shop workers for example, a footballer is more a commodity than an employee these days, more so if you can 'sniff out a bargain' in the youth set up and sell him on for mega money (pretty sure we got one from chelsea, only played one senior game yet we got stung for him...dont want to see his name to be honest)

Hopefully someone can come up with a formula to increase the money paid to clubs who identify the youngsters develop them and have them snatched away before they can sign a contract , perhaps it could be based on a valuation at age 21 with the developing club being awarded a proportion of the assessed valuation set by an independent tribunal . Difficult to come up with a straightforward system but as a club we have lost some very good young prospects for a pittance which highlights that something needs to be done to protect clubs such as ourselves from the larger clubs who simply hover up anyone who they believe has the required talent so will pay buttons in the hope they make the grade or sell them on .
