Just reading through Adams programme notes in the last 4 programmes of last season,and they all are sounding us out to be prepared for a frugal summer in one way or another,add to the young squad,no money for signings,but will be some good players available on a free,trying to bring the wage bill down and run the club as a normal business should be run. Stick with us by buy buying your season tickets etc etc.

Now we seem to have an expensive manager with a war chest.

It's gone from one extreme to another.

I wonder what's brought the sea of change in how the Allams want to play it now , we're they shocked by the fans reaction to Adam & Nicks dismissals.
 
This is what's confusing me so much about this whole situation. And I don't want to get into another AP/NB/Allam argument again. But when you look at the events of the last six months, it does seem like the Allams have been saying "spend", but AP was trying to stop them.

It's a weird situation - and after the despair of early May, this just doesn't seem like the same club at the moment. Whether people wanted him or not, I doubt many people would have thought at the end of the season that by early June we would be most bookies' favourites to sign Heskey.
 
I believe that it was the Bullard saga that highlighted the need for a different approach and slowly but surely Ehab took control
The fact that Adam Pearson invested in Hull FC rather than Hull City, could have upset the Allams. I would be gutted if it had happened to me. I suspect that Adam had a plan that was based on standard football practice and Ehab wanted standard business practices to come to the fore. The objectives have always been to turn the club into a profitable business. Again I think that the Allams did not expect the club to still operate at a loss after capital had been injected into the club. So we have two different approaches. Reduce costs across the board and hope that the results go your way. Or inject specific channels of funding in to increase the odds of success. Both are business models that can and do work. It looks to me that we tried the first and now the second is in full swing.
 
As I've been banging on about for the best part of two years, AP had absolutely no ambition for this club and was more than happy with mid table mediocrity.

It appears the Allams realise our true potential and want a whole lot more than mid table mediocrity, that can only be good.

AP made no decisions on spending at the club, that was the owners call.

You seriously think AP was saying there was no money to spend in the summer, if that's not what the owner was telling him?

It makes you wonder why the Allam's didn't correct this misconception that AP was obviously labouring under and was telling the media(it's not like he doesn't normally act on what his employees are saying in the media). It's quite obvious that the thinking has changed and quite dramatically.

I'm not complaining about it, it should make for some exciting times, but trying to blame AP(again) for something that was not down to him, is pathetic.
 
Pathetic or not, Adam Pisstake has left the building and on that basis all his previous drivel should be disregarded.

Time to put the past in the past and look forward.

Agree with you totally, Adam was the same at derby and when he came back to city and appointed dowie, it proved to me his comfort zone is the championship , the blokes a bellend .
 
Its great that they are looking to spend, but how does this fit in with there approach to turn us profitable? How do they think we will look to manage the FPP regulations? Does it mean we will go back to bartering over the stadium?

I am a huge fan of the Allams but i hope they don't go silly on the spending as we will surely then cut in areas we need to invest more in youth teams, scouting etc...

Theres a few wumming numpties on here the last few days, shame as usually a good site, must be silly season now on here
 
Don't know what has changed things but lets hope everything runs smoothly for at least one season. As well as bringing in new players they have to make sure that our existing players remain happy with their contracts. One thing for sure though, the manager and the team will have to deliver otherwise the Allams will not be happy.
 
I have always said that I did not like Adam Pearson, and that has not changed. I do feel that he was doing a good job for the club though and I cannot take that away from him.

I do understand what was said in the media and what was practiced within the club does not balance it probably never will. But has Adams history repeated itself?

Next season I will be sitting in a different stand. Watching a different manager, with at least 4 or 5 different players in the squad, even the grass on the pitch will be different. Now I find that is something to be pleasantly excited about.
 
I get the feeling Ehab and not Assem is the driving force behind the new approach (gamble). Bruce said he was "the chairman is ambitious enough and his son certainly is". Taking over from AP and running the club seems to be his job now and making the big decisions seems to be his call. He obviously wants to be in the PL sooner rather than later.
