Anyone who rubbishes the contribution Adam Pearson made to our club is a cretin. To accuse him of being a venal money-obsessed capitalist reveals the poster's North Korean mindset.
Anyone who thinks Adams past contributions excuses his taking the piss and advantage of the club for personal benefit to the detriment of the Tigers is a cretin. To credit him of being a purely City minded philanthropist, only concerned with whats best for the Tigers reveals the poster's North Korean mindset.
What are the Adam pisstake events that's made people hate him, other than the mailing list incident and getting sacked?
I don't hate him Bob, I'm just glad he is gone seeing as he was being very well paid for **** all and whilst being paid by the Tigers was feathering his own nest and doing a number of dodgy things, which OLM eludes to in his post. So hate, nah, more a *thanks for the L2 stuff, now don't let the door hit yer arse on the way out, oh and someone check his pockets please*.
Well I don't much care for what has or hasn't gone on in the past. It's not important any more. Maybe to the Allams and Pearson and Barmby, but not to me as a fan. Unless you have your head stuck in the sand, it's rather obvious that whatever the previous plan was for the club, the present plan is to bring in the best manager they can get (tick box) and then allow him sensible and adequate funds to give us a decent shot at automatic/play-offs over the next 3 years. (Seems to be agreed already.) This is going to cost the Allams a lot of money. No escaping this fact. They are also funding all the other crap players we can’t shift from our last PL jaunt. Don’t forget this. That is one of the reasons they are desperate to run the club properly at every level. Why some fans cannot understand the need for loyalty by the Allams (hence the need to sack Barmby & Pearson) is beyond me quite frankly. After what he said to the media, Barmby had to go in my opinion. There are plenty of other reasons they should have got rid, but that’s the main one. Why some fans cannot understand that while on the one hand you do need to get the cheque book out to get a better manger and another 5 or 6 players to get us into the premier league........ but at the same time as that investment is made, you really also need to make sure you get maximum value for money and run the club as efficiently as possible. The two things do go hand in hand you know. Football is a business. Moving on then, perhaps the Allams have accepted defeat in trying to get the KC Stadium off the council. For now. Perhaps they realise they just need to bite the financial bullet again, and put the cash in to get us up, keep us up (but done sensibly) and they they will have an asset worth considerably more than it ever was. Plus it will generate a very tidy profit in the PL each and every season if run properly. Perhaps then - they will be in a position to either buy the KC using cash or via mortgage or a combination of the two. Should that road remain shut to them (more likely) they will always have the option of building something else (e.g. at Melton) but as a last resort. Another option that might become viable, is (if) the club becomes a premier league fixture, Hull City will clearly need a bigger stadium, perhaps then the council will either find the money to extend it (as in gratis) or some sort of partnership can be agreed (other than the Allams buying the KC for City). Once that fact is established, expansion becomes more viable. But as things stand, in the Championship with gates of less than 20K, is very hard to convince people otherwise. Hence the need to get the club up, and get them established as soon as possible. Stoke City are the model here. What you really need is a very good manager, and 'just' enough cash to keep improving the key areas year in year out. Eventually, you can become a fixture in the PL and you don't need to have a financial meltdown to do it - if you are sensible and run things wisely, investing the right amounts in the right places at the right times. All administered by a very good manager, who will cost you £’s none the less. The Allams know they are likely to grow their other business in the coming years (new factories due etc) so in theory, the investment cash is going to be there in terms of the team. What will really get it rolling is when you add the PL TV cash on top of that. Eventually the club could turn a decent net profit every year, even after moderate spending on team transfers. Just recall how near Bartlett came to achieving this, all without owning the KC. All without having anything other than a large bank loan. All with having stupid contracts and signing the likes of Bullard. The Allams can do this without the stadium (for now) and without the bank loans. Plus without the contractual cock ups and wastage of cash. They know this too I am sure!!! They just want to make sure they have the right people on board, and things are done properly and without waste this time. Learning from the past mistakes. Time will tell, but I am rather sure we will be a PL team within the next 3 seasons. We can stay there too, if the Allams continue to stand by the club. What will help that is if the fans of Hull City get behind the owners and show them how much we appreciate what they have done and how much we want them to succeed with what is actually their club after all. Not ours. We are the fans not the owners. Remember, you don't have to think Adam Pearson is stupid/evil/amazing/god/the devil to support the Allams in what they are trying to achieve. Ditto Nick Barmby. He is still a hero in my eyes and I wish things had ended differently or never even ended at all. But they did. You just need to move on and look forward to the future now. How hard is that? Not very for me, given the past of this club!! Let’s ditch this childish mentality and create a positive atmosphere at the club. Next season will be one to remember - I am sure - and we should all cheer the **** up!
You are right of course. But that doesn't mean or prove in any way that Pearson was wrongly removed does it? I prefer not to judge the situation as I know nothing about it other than pub gossip. Which goes for the rest of us on these boards if we are honest. Pearson is gone, and we move on. That's the end of it for me, I really don't care.
Pearson might well have been justifiably got rid off, there's no issue with me about that, but what he did for the club in previous years was tremendous. People bring up the Dowie appointment but Brownie had really lost the plot so he had the balls to try and save us even if it didn't pan out. We would never have even been in that position or have the Allams as owners if it was not for Pearson, not to mention the success under Peter Taylor
Another sensible post from Daves postie. I really need to stop responding to the trolls, but they make it so easy
