If 'Arry wants the job and the FA want him, I'm sure we'll find out by the end of the week. Until then there's not much to talk about apart from Capello being an absolute loon and the FA no doubt accepting his resignation with huge grins on their faces.

Why the FA seem to think it makes a difference what country the manager comes from perplexes me. Foreign coaches don't seem to have any trouble motivating English players in the Premier League. The last time the FA insisted in having an English manager we got Schteve McLaren, do they never learn? How about appointing a manager with genuine international experience rather than someone who has done well at club level, it's a completely different style and format of management.

IMO this is the more likely course of events too. Capello felt undermined (even if he agrees with what the FA have done) and as such felt no longer able to do his job properly to the standard he wished to, or no longer wished to have to deal with the FA. So he walks, and I can't blame him for that really
 
The only people never to have commented on Capello's successor is.....the FA! Apart from being English, thats all they've said, the rest has been all media. So, nobody knows what their requirement is, short term panic fix, because thats all Harry is at 65 and a medical issue. They may well want some long term stability i.e. a younger man. Till then, not worth worrying about, let the ****ers guess all they like. <doh>

How strange to see the wums who are so quick to remind us all how poor a club manager Harry has been, because he's won next to fuk all, are all suddenly so keen for him to lead National team, because he's the right man! <whistle>

In fairness the fact that Harrys booked in for some beginners English lessons would suggest he's after the top job <whistle>

Also strange that they are now saying what a fantastic team Spurs are. <laugh>
 
Some sports writer, speaking on TalkSport tonight, made an interesting point. He believes that Stuart Pearce will take over as temporary manager for the friendly against Holland, and Harry will take over when the domestic season ends, a good month or two before the start of the Euros.

Harry is overwhelmingly the number one choice of managers, players and fans. There is no way the FA cannot offer him the job, nor do I believe that he will turn it down. It will be his swan-song, and he will be able to join the likes of Venables, Sir Bobby, and Sir Alf, in that pantheon of English managers to have taken over the national squad. And, you know what? I think he'll do a cracking job. Even if he doesn't do well in the Euros, he'll have the chance to take us to the next World Cup.

Let's face it, lads. Harry will be gone at the end of the season. I just hope that he gets us back in the CL, and that we can get a top name to replace him. He'll have left us with a great platform to advance from, and we should all be grateful for that.
 
Also won't the FA have to pay us a bucket load of money if they want Harry,so if he stays until the end of the season,we will be quids in.I know we would rather Harry stayed but he's old school and still has pride in the England team.
Hope he stays as he's done a great job.Just don't know if he will be able to turn it down.So let's hope we can carry on and get the top 4 spot and get a good replacement in,if harry does go.
 
As a scouser, can I say, I would laugh myself silly if 'arry took the England job, but as a realist, he would be mental to do so!

His loyalty is as dodgy as his tax returns, given the fact that he was happy to flit between Pompey and Southampton.

The question is, is it feasible to think Spurs can win stuff? Yes they will probably get top 4, but it is unlikely they will get the title away from Manchester, and while the FA cup is still on, it is not a cert. I think talk of Spurs winning the champions league next year is fantastical. So lets be realistic, as an England manger, you go down in the history books, no matter how much you balls it up, and since he has been a journeyman, he will never be a legend at any one club, and he doesn't have the time to build a legacy at spurs. If he wants to be remembered, he will need to take the England job, so the question is, will he follow his ego or not?

Talking of ego's, how about JT? If he had done the decent thing and walked, Capello wouldn't had have to resign. Not only does Terry fek his team mates WAGS, he has fekked the England football team leaving them without a manager or captain 4 months before a major tournament, he allegedly abuses his team mates and possibly feks Tottenham Hotspur by leaving Rednapp a difficult choice. Have England ever had a worse captain? I know he didn't have much of a start in life with his father being a convicted drug dealer and his mother a convicted thief but it's no excuse. If 'Arry takes the England post let's hope he leaves Terry at home, for the sake of the team if nothing else.
