Ah, see this is where it all collapses.

A vote, such as a general election is a snapshot in time - and the result of that is INSTANTANEOUS. The winning Labour party instantly kickstarts the process of putting Corbyn on the throne. Brexit by clear and obvious contrast is NOT an instant action and instead will have taken at least three years once all the fcukwittery is dealt with.

We cannot go back in time, but we can reset things today and say "right, here's the deal, here's no deal, here's remain - pick one, the result happens tomorrow".

And as for the elderly, the only old people this result actually affects either way are ex-pats and I'd bet an awful lot of money which way they would have voted. Bear in mind the only thing the elderly benefit from is the NHS, when you've got the Clown Prince of Buffoonery with his foppish, racist charm harping on about saving £350m, what you gonna do? You're sure as **** not finding many octogenarians on YouGov forums sanity checking the facts. Most would think Reddit is a noise a frog makes.

If it wasn't for the likes of me you young f@ckers would be goose stepping up and down Northumberland Street. Why not put me down now and be done with it.

How the **** did this **** get the job of leading your fine city lads

As sick as I am of the whole Brexit saga, it's becoming clear that it's not going to happen.
Too many MP's taking bungs to vote against leaving.
I'm not even joking :emoticon-0145-shake

All the ERG types who have been voting against May's deal, you mean ?

May's deal is like remaining anyway.
The country has been stockpiling so we need to leave now with no deal.
If not this will just run and run.

I think May's deal is worse than remaining or leaving without a deal. Its like a shadowing exercise of the EU. Many of the pitfalls without the upsides to leaving - I'm sure a remoaner will be along soon to tell me there are no upsides...

Everyone just seems utterly exasperated and tired of Brexit now.

Brexit was always going to be either a somewhat crapper version of the current arrangement or no deal. I don't know why anyone regards being reduced to WTO rules as a good thing but some do. I don't think anyone, however, regards achieving some sort of second rate membership in the EU (which is what the various soft brexit options amount to) as a good outcome. I think most Brexiteers would regard being in the EU as one of the big three is better than being a sort of appendix. The most likely outcome of all this is, therefore, something that no one regards as an improvement on EU membership.

Absolutely mindless to me. I think even staunch remainers would be against some shadowing set up with the EU. What is the point of shutting off the benefits of leaving to have a diluted membership with no power to direct.

In terms of the WTO rules, there seem to be several trains of thought within the economics community. The problem is as always those commenting are not doing so from an independant position (regardless what they try to say). Very much a suck and see situation. Obviously if we do go to WTO rules we will need to have plans in place for unilateral cutting of the tariffs to mitigate the impact. That and a lot of other things. I would assume we have already begun the preparation process, but to be honest, have witnessed the incompetence of those within our political system over the last 2 years, that is probably a dangerous assumption to make.

I would still choose to remain. If that isn't an option I'd leave with a no deal. This keeping one foot in is a waste of time.

I think what we need to bear in mind, is that if we were to leave with a decent deal, then all the other countries that want to leave would expect one as well.
The United States of Europe will never allow that to happen.
They will pay off whoever they need to in Parliament, to ensure that Greece and whoever else can't financially govern themselves keep Britain and Germany as their prize cash cows.

I know a conspiracy theory is great fun but this one needs work. It has the United States of Europe conspiring to bilk Britain and Germany of their funds. The difficulty with that is that, insofar as any definable group can be said to 'run' the EU, that group was Britain, Germany and France. The are the USE if anyone is. They aren't really likely to set up some grand conspiracy to bilk themselves.

Oh, and there is evidence of bungs being paid.

I think the problem may be this pesky vote in 2016 mate. Our MPs could not organise a dyslexic gangbang in a warehouse.

Just if it ignore the public and do what's best for the future. Take Farage shot him to send a message out to the rest.
