Norwich sent the lad back because he got injured. They've since signed Premier League quality players. Spurs have signed him on a long term contract today so they think he's good enough.

Chris Wood is back from injury and back among the goals but like Fosse said on our board...take him out the side and our shots/goals ratio is shocking. Wood is a one chance one goal man and hopefully Kane is too.

Nugent is a quality footballer and he leads the line really well, but he's not a goalscorer.

Waggy and Vardy are Fryatt esque in the sense they need to be playing every week for their confidence and they're not better than Wood or Nuge.

Hopefully Kane gives us that extra goal threat we need.

I read the Norwich City board just after they sent Kane back. Norwich fans were not impressed when he played like. TWT like.

Have you not read my post in the last page?!
There can't be a transfer fee whatever, as it is a loan. Even as a loan fee we'd never pay anything like £1million.

End of the loan he is a free agent, but it seems we have agreed a pre contract. We can't pay Posh for this as we aren't buying him - it will be a contract direct with him as a free agent negotiated in advance of his posh one expiring.

Posh will have got a loan fee at best, and considering he was going whatever in summer they haven't got the bargaining position to hold out for anything big! This doesn't add up somehow and I'd love to know how Posh are claiming it to be a 7 figure "deal"

What are you on about? I myself am questioning how there is a fee - we're saying the same thing! Posh are stating that they have received 7 figures and you and I are both disputing that.

yeah, but I had not long said that a transfer fee was impossible, and explained he was a free agent i summer, so wondered why you even speculated "But wasn't he out of contract in the summer so there would be no transfer fee?"
when I had just confirmed that!

anyway, that's all 2 pages back now!

Steve Bruce does seem to have concerns about some players' ability to play more than once a week and Boyd's presence will allow him to rotate the squad a bit more without necessarily changing the formation.

Well spotted. I agree 100%. Even though he wont admit as much in public I bet that SB has got one eye on the Crystal Palace game and why not. We can rest a few key players against Birmingham and still put out a strong side. I expect Boyd to debut saturday week.

Agnew said on tonights sportstalk with Burnsy that both Faye and McShane are expected to train next week and maybe back in contention for Birmingham.

Certainly keeping players fresh is a given. Koren looked so much better tuesday night after sitting out most of the Charlton game as an example.

Hes an assist machine, wanted us to get him along with aluko at the start of the season, always wants the ball and drives forward at pace, alot busier than koren.

and the info i get is 3rd hand, so not always going to be 100 percent accurate, but hey ho ;)

Well done Hutch...your source had it right again. This is another brilliant loan by SB. Boyd is a player I've always wanted. 5 years younger than Koren, much faster and more aggressive. Should be a great combo with Gedo, and gives us real depth in MF too.

Hope we can get a couple of these howitzers out of the lad

Us signing Boyd is absolutley no different to you getting Kane, ANOTHER option in the final third of the pitch, Kane isn't as good as Nugent in my opinion but can see why Pearsons brought him in, my point in my post was not to have a pop at you signing Kane but to point out you bring players in to strengthen your squad, especially when you have a very good chance of promotion. He hasn't been brought in cos Bruce thinks hes better than Koren hes been brought in cos Bruce thinks hes good enough to be in the squad of players on matchday.

And not missing the fact that you can never have too many good players.. particularly when your striving for promotion to the Premier League..

Can I suggest if people wish to discuss the virtues of Harry Kane with a Lesster fan that you do so on your own thread instead of deflecting this one which is about George Boyd.

What's the point of this pissing match? Neither have even played for their respective clubs yet and could end up doing nowt.

That would be typical city if that happened.

22 goals in 113 games in the Championship for Boyd. Pretty decent for player who doesn't play up front and has played in a struggling side. I don't think he's quite as good as Koren, but he's a great option to have in the squad.

Strov my post was about Boyd which also mentioned Kane, do we have to compare Boyd to any of our other players on a different thread aswell then.

And more importantly, why anyone with half a brain would want to enter into any sort of dialogue with that twat is simply beyond me..
