They thought De Laet was dire and Whitbread is the best thing sinced sliced...well...bread. Shows what they know
It is Mike I agree.. but that imbecile is just continually on this board as a WUM nothing more nothing less.. incredible that some don't see him for what he is..
I don't mind AKCJ coming on here at all, i don't mean to come across as though im rising to him i just like to get my opinion across to him, or who ever it may be im relying to.
31 games, 6 goals, 8 assists and 50 shots according to this http://espnfc.com/player/_/id/26378/george-boyd?cc=5739
Ok by me .. you obviously have more patience than I have. If it was constructive fine but a WUM definitely not for me.
Think we needed this 1 with news that aluko will be out longer than first thought, will allow us to play him where koren has been playing and we can drop koren back to his prefered position
There are people who wish to discuss and read details about the signing of George Boyd, as the title of this thread suggests. All I am suggesting is that if you wish to discuss Harry Kane with a WUM you do so on another thread so that people who want to read about Boyd can do so without trawling through loads on non-related posts. Not an unreasonable request, surely.
I dunno what to make of this- it's either great hold up play or just really powder puff defending.
McDonalds drive through. Because I was right? He potentially joins for 28 days initially. He technically returns to P'boro at the end of that during the international break (he can still train with us, he'd just be ineligible for the games that we're not actually playing during that period). He rejoins us on 28th March (loan deadline day) for his remaining days. Just as QPR did with Tommy Smith: http://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/tommy-smith-joins-qpr-in-bizarre-loan-deal-6511918.html EDIT: Assuming we've finally had the sense to do it this way. He couldn't be recalled before the international break, and when he rejoins on deadline day he couldn't be recalled until another 28 days have passed. Other than that there'd be financial considerations for P'boro if they wanted to.
Another quality signing that is proven in the Championship. Whether he plays up top, in midfield, or out wide, I'm not too bothered. The bloke is obviously quality, and I'm just pleased, at this critically important stage of the season, that we aren't relying on unknown quantity young players that are being shipped out by their parent clubs to gain experience
Not an unreasonable request at all Strov, i was genuinely just trying to get my opinion across about Boyd, i promise i wont mention Kane again ha ha
If this was last season, I get the feeling we'd have sat back, let him go to a rival then signed somebody not as good. Like John Bostock. It's really good to see us bringing in quality players that will make a difference, rather than players that can just make up the numbers.
I think it's an entirely different situation to what we were in back then. Dunno if you can really compare the two. With Bostock it was sign anybody who'll come to us. We weren't really an attractive proposition for any promising players and that's why we signed relative newbies who've come on leaps and bounds, ie Chester and the like. Now we're in a situation where we can actually attract players.
Excellent signing. Always looks a handful and in a decent side will get a fair few goals. Bruce knows what he's doing and keeping players fresh is a big factor at this stage of the season, having Boyd as an option is smart management. I'd much rather have Georgie boy than this Kane no mark. Soz Strov, I couldn't help myself. But seriously Harry who? Never heard of him, he must be blinding. Another Matty James in the making I reckon.

Just trying to work out this seven figure sum, has their chairman counted the wages that the club have saved in this deal from loaning him out, and then maybe due to the way we wish to structure the deal we have had to pay a premium to have him available for the play offs? Perhaps. A player i have long admired and wish we got him sooner, but its never to late.
