    I wanted to know whether anyone had heard of the lad. He could have been a Guardian journalist, he could have been Borini's agent for all I knew mate.

    As it turns out his greatest claim to being an authority on the matter is the fact he has a Liverpool season ticket. Now we have that knowledge we can his ****e aside.

    Northern Soul may well be right but I just have a feeling there's some substance behind it.

    I still think he's gonna sign. Not saying whether I'm happy about that or not, given the price, but I do now think it's gonna happen.

    And if it does, we need to give him one big ****ing warm welcome. Cos he'll be up there on that pedestal next season, whether he likes it or not.
