I don't know if anyone else has, but I watched 'Cry Freetown'. Filmed by Sorious Samura.

Really quite something. He went behind the scenes and filmed what was happening in Sierra Leone.

Really shocking and amazing that he managed to document so much. Really moved me.

Easily the most harrowing documentary I've seen. But effective in its presentation. Samura's narration adds to that.

Anyone seen it?

Thanks DTLW - I'm really interested in what happened in Sierra Leone but haven't seen this, so will look forward to that when I get home. You really should try and get a copy of A Long Way Gone by Ishmael Beah.

Any one seen Last King of Scotland? It's about Idi Amin.

Ah you see I don't like Blood Diamond because it's actually a really sanitised portrayal of what was going on. Read A Long Way Gone, then watch Blood Diamond. You won't like it so much then!

Think I probably will the acting in Blood Diamond is spot on.

That's a tough film to watch as a father.

Anyone seen "The Road?" An amazing book that I read first (Politzer prize winner I think) and the film is a good interpretation.
What's it about?
