Well, it's not always violent intervention, but the US has sent military personnel to Sierra Leone on three separate occasions, and Clinton's regime fired cruise missiles at targets in Sudan.

Most of the time, I think they take the sensible view that it's just not something they can feasibly solve.

The fired missiles at a pharmaceutical factory in Sudan. Not their proudest moment. My point being, the genocides in those three countries from a humanitarian perspective were far worse than what we're seeing in Syria.

I don't know if anyone else has, but I watched 'Cry Freetown'. Filmed by Sorious Samura.

Really quite something. He went behind the scenes and filmed what was happening in Sierra Leone.

Really shocking and amazing that he managed to document so much. Really moved me.

Easily the most harrowing documentary I've seen. But effective in its presentation. Samura's narration adds to that.

    Anyone seen it?

Yep, I watched it. Very good documentary indeed, naturally presented without unnecessary drama or hype. Reported what he saw on the ground and why it had come to be.Thoroughly thought provoking half hour. Should be seen by everybody with an empathic bone in their body.

I wonder how many people will..?

I just watched it again. I really do think it's a powerful video. Not too long, not too short.

Like you say, without the hype and unnecessary showman like drama.

I agree, others should give this a watch.

Hi gays! This is a v.interesting story bout what happened to me the other night in Birmingham! I posted on Saintsweb but they is all saying it's a dumb+boring story bout wallets, but I think it's hilarious! You have deciding vote yo! Be sure to be explicit in ur feedback! #bearsyrules = good story bout wallets, #tokyosgay = dumb story bout wallets!

V.Interesting Story bout wallets by Brian Earsy

    Volume 1

So I was in a club with my mate, and I was showing the people of Birmingham my stellar dance moves when this bird comes up and unaccountably grabs hold of my mate and starts feeling on his arse. I say unaccountably, cos if she had to feel anyone's arse I'd of thought she'd want to feel mine, and also cos I felt like she was too good looking for the likes of him. Anyways, after a bit she f*cks off, presumably to go wash her hands or something, and my mate is all smug and suddenly extra hyper like you are when birds is randomly hitting on you.

Couple of minutes later Mark is frantically patting his back pockets. "What is matter?" I say. He is gone white as sheet. "My wallet's gone!"

I was immediate lols. "Haha, your bird must've nicked it!"

I dunno what you would have done in this situation, I would prob put it down as lesson learnt bout not keeping wallet in back pocket, but not Mark. He insists we search whole club for the bird. I'm objecting that she's hardly likely to hang around, but we do it anyway.

We find her straight away in the upstairs bar. Immediately, I am sensing something is wrong. She is with some girl mates and sees us coming, but she seems pleased about it. She is smiling and nudging her mate as we walk over. I'm wondering how Mark is going to edge into what promises to be quite an awkward interview, but he is having no such qualms. "Did you take my wallet?" he demands immediately. It was pretty lols how her face went from smile, to confusion, to anger. She was v.angar! After some stout denials, we was both advised to f*ck off with bells on.

Anyway, my mate got a call next day. They found his wallet in the gents.

On Syria I have mixed feelings.........I am always mindful that they have never contributed anything to the stability of the area. When they went into Lebanon as aid to the civil power they were there to help keep the peace but were asked to leave when it was reported of the atrocities they were alleged to have been involved in there.
I am not sure the united nations always come to right conclusions and work fast enough to avoid real conflicts and in reality has very little teeth in my eyes.
The fact that Russia or anyone else that is friendly with the Syrian nation (which is not that many by all accounts) should not be taken into account if such atrocities has been carried out. The charge that it wasn't the Syrian army that carried out the attack is laughable in my view.
Sadly the debacle over Iraq and their weapons of mass destruction is sadly coming back to bite the west.
However I ask the question.....have we now found out where those weapons went? Or is this just another blind ally same as the last time?
I am glad we are not going to be involved, at least in the short term. It really is time we stopped being dragged along by the shirt tails of the USA.
I am not sure that getting involved will actually solve too much......perhaps getting hold of the Syrian President and making him responsible for his actions at the Haig may be the better bet. Might save a lot of lives and hassle in the long run.

Got away with his crimes for 11 years and then cut his prison time to six weeks. He's really beaten the justice system there.
