Yay, Brockenhurst College off :)

Snow coming down quite heavy here, and settling quite well ... not good for the footballing weekend though!

The weather never stopped us playing football as children. Come rain or shine we were always outside kicking a ball around.

The kids today are just far too soft and pampered.

I wonder if my postman will come in his shorts today? He has done so far all through December and January!

Fair play to him!

Doesn't every town have a strange nutter who wears shorts, socks and sandals through the winter? The one here at least wears proper shorts, the one in Horsham wore tiny, revealing shorts...very disturbing (and not in a nice way).

Crap paper the Express has an article saying we are the only PL club without undersoil heating therefore Monday's game could be frozen off. They suggest we should not have been promoted! At work so can't post a link.

Early 90's, mid-Feb, game has just started against a Liverpool side with the likes of Fowler, MacManaman, Barnes etc with a light snowy blizzard in the air and....

**** ME!!! GOOOAAAALLLL!!!!! LE TISSIER!!!!

...after only 26 seconds. Another piece of Southampton folklore from Le God. Went on to finish 4-2 with snow laying all over the pitch and the need for the orange ball. Oh yeah, and with Matty getting a hat-trick. Legend.

Pure magic. Games at the Dell at night and in the winter could not be bettered.

Undersoil heating was not installed to save costs and because it is hardly ever an issue in the South. How many games can you remember being cancelled? I believe they said at the time that the channels are already under the pitch for the system to be installed later, but suspect that they would need replacing now. Hardly a reason to block promotion though!
