A finely tuned HDM interview, followed by a couple of statements pointing accusatory fingers, and people are sold hook, line and sinker.
Still not heard from Barmby, he's had disciplinary and appeal hearings to deal with after all. He has dealt with those in a dignified manner to their unfortunate conclusions. I now hope that we get to hear his side of the story at some point, you know, for balance, as I feel with our weaker minded supporters, his legacy has been (and continues to be) tainted by this set of events, way beyond any reasonable level.
This is what I think happened.
Nick signed because the Allams agreed to sign players who he wanted and invest at a reasonable level.
The Allams wanted him to sign Billy Sharp and Nick did not feel he would be worth the disruption to the dressing room.
Money was available but every deal had to be sanctioned via another yet un-named party.
The summer investment was only available if Nick brought the wage bill down, but that included the Billy Sharp money and meant nothing would actually be left.
Money from sales would go into reducing the Allams liability to the club and not into the player purchase funds.
Nick would not have a hiring or firing role for his own staff.
Paint it white black or grey the fact is that I dont know anything, but I still would support the Allams, even if the above had any basis in fact.

Sorry mate but you're an idiot... and I was almost going to just ignore your rubbish.
If you knew how to read and understood english you'd be able to see that I did not compare the allams to drug lords but the RELATIONSHIP we may end up having with them, is similar to relationships benefactors (such as drug lords) have with neighbouring communities or their employees for example. Granted I should probably have thought a little longer and come up with a better example but the point stands, I will not shut up just because they "saved us", I won't tolerate a dictator like relationship where we cannot say (as NIck did) anything bad against them for as long as they are here.
It's very easy to twist people's words to make a point.
It's pretty damn immature to call everyone haters and go to one extreme to make yourself look like the "good guy" also.
Nick Barmby has been a great servant to our club, on the field as a player and off as a manager.
If you think the way his career at our club has ended is acceptable then you are no fan of our club.
If you think it's acceptable to be sacked on the terms he was sacked then you have no morals.
I don't think the Allams will be seen as our saviour for much longer if they keep this attitude up. I will certainly be the first one to say "told you so" if it all goes pear shaped.
Buying a drugby league should have been automatic dismissal for me.

I'm just gonna stop replying to this thread as I honestly think we'll never know the truth. I think Nick will keep quiet because that suits him the best and even if he did make a statement the truth would be somewhere in between his statement and the Allams so really, no one other than Nick and the Allams will ever know the truth. Us debating the arse out of it, and throwing accusations and calling each other names achieves nothing.

Mr tickle . Given the choice right now at this moment I would rather we lost Nicky B then we lost the Allams . In my opinion without the Allams we would be ****ed .. Unless your off to pay the players wages and provide cash for spending . Managers come and go . Who knows, if the new manager takes up next season losing NB could turn out to be a good move .

I agree that there seems to be a division in the camp and sides are being taken. I did not mean "stupid" literally, I don't know you and probably shouldn't have said it. My apologies.
My last contribution is that for me this is not about NB and his managerial skills. This is about how the Allams chose to deal with it.
Like some have said, if this is how they dealt with the situation with "one of our own" what next?
I am not entirely happy with the idea that our owners are willing to throw their toys out of their prams as soon as someone dares to open their mouthes and criticise them.
If this is a sign of things to come, I fear for our future. I want consistency at our club and a nice atmosphere within the club. I don't want owners who will react so poorly to situations like these. I really hope they realise that it was not dealt with in the right way and that they'll learn something out of it.
I definitely don't hate the Allams. I really hope they are just naive. I also definitely don't think that NB was the only way to go. I just don't like how it was dealt with.
Eventually we will all move on with a new manager and look forward to next season but Allams need to understand that it doesn't have to be "their way or the highway". There has to be a middle ground.
Circa I have been reading your posts with interest. I agree with all of them and I have been lambasted on here for having those views, you are banging your head against a brick wall with some people on here. They just don't get that it is the way the Allams have gone about things that seem so wrong. Sack Nick for footballing reasons if they think he should have got us into the play offs but not for remarks made. It seems they "saved the club" so we all have to agree with everything they do or say. Maybe some of us cannot exactly explain why we feel uneasy about the whole thing, some feelings are like that, just instinct. Maybe they will prove us wrong but anyone working for them would be very wary of overstepping the mark and finding themselves treated the same way as Nick.
I don't understand comments about Barmby 'biting the hand that fed him', from what the Allams have come out with all he did was say some things they didn't agree with and they've taken a dictatorial approach and kicked him out of his job. Was what he said bad enough for them to fire him?
In the course of time, I'm sure Nick's side will come out.

I'm going to.offer my opinion, whether people agree or.not is up to them but personally I'm getting sick of reading that either you are an allam or Barmby hated. Personally I am neither.
I (along with every other single poster on here) will never know the truth. We were not present in any of the discussions between the parties which is the only way you woukd know.for sure. I obviously accept that some people have access to nb etc but as I've.said.previously it.is.human nature to.put.your.own slant on things.
I have seen people suggesting that the allams are.not to.be trusted and that they are going to ruin the club that we all love. I have seen no.evidence to back up those suggestions.
From the information that I have seen nb gave an interview in January indicating that funds were available yet saying that he was happy with the squad and.wouldn't be strengthening (save for.vito and king). However towards the end of the season he gave an interview indicating that money wasn't made available in January and in effect challenging the allams to.invest more in the summer.
Apparently the allams did make money available in January but they wanted to buy players who nb didn't want to buy. Allegedly one of.the players was a proven goalscorer who wanted to.join us but his wage demands were greater than the rest of the squad.
The allams appear to be of the opinion that by nb suggesting to the media that money wasn't made available in January has undermined them. They are businessmen and, looking at it from a business point of view I can understand their fears and, as such, understand why they have sacked him.
The fact that they did sack him is possibly excessive.
Nb is a hull legend and I will forever be grateful to him for coming back to his home town club and being a big part of our rise.to the premier league. I did worry though when he agreed to become manager that his status at the club would be tarnished if.something happened that would result in him being dismissed. That's what has now happened.
I'm unconvinced that nb was the right.man for.the.managers position due to his lack.of.experience. But I don't necessarily agree with the way he was dismissed which is a disappointment.
That said, I do not villify (sp) either party in this whole situation and will continue to.support my club and whoever is appointed as new.manager.

im the same - but the point i try to put across is that we only have the words of the Allams so far - i dont support or set against either party - all im trying to point out is both parties have had opportunities to speak out and we only hear the Allams side . "he said ,she said " comments are worthless , but statements in the full glare of the media are there to be scrutinised and picked apart by more interested people than myself .
Allams have done that , Barmby hasn't .
But as ive said before - this forum has invented Perpetual motion and flown in the face of thermodynamical law
