If Barmby is so bothered and is so concerned he should say stuff the compo Ive got loads of money from all the transfers i engineered over the years and tell his side. But he wont will he. This is all about getting as much cash as he can out of the club/Allams/us.
I hope things work out but at the moment for anybody to say they are completely right about things and that there is or isn't a problem with the club, is wrong or we wouldn't be here having this discussion. I hope Bruce or whoever comes in and does a great job, and wish Nicky the best for the future.
The way I see the whole Barmby thing is in metaphores.
If I catch my 9 year old telling his mates I'm fat bald and snore a lot, I'll give him a clip round the lug and dock his pocket money for a couple of weeks. I won't write him out of my will and tell him he's got to leave home and go and live with his Ma and Pa in Warwickshire for the rest of his life.
To me, that is what has happened, it's just too severe, it's a waste. We had a chance to have something special, something different and all that's been blown away through an overreaction. People, and I include the Allams, should not start saying "Well this would happen in any other business, lah, blah, blah" either. Football isn't like any other business, otherwise people like Joey Barton would be long out of a job. I just hope the Allams don't continue in this rather inflexible "Bite your nose off to spite your face" manner, otherwise they are going to go through more managers in the next decade than any other club in football.

There are plenty of people with the same viewpoint as Madhog but none I've seen yet who express it in such an awkward, stubborn and just plain twattish manner. You haven't got a clue what's gone on Madhog yet you're obsessively having a go at everyone who disagrees with you and have been doing for about 3 weeks now, and as OLM said, its perfectly reaosnable for people to disagree with you on this when it's such a bizarre chain of events.
No one suggested Barmby should be sacked before it happened, but suddenly after it had happened everyone had been thinking he should go all along and he was never a good manager, just because of some bullshit the Allams had one of their lackeys tell you in the media.
He deserves the cash, he's been royally ****ed from behind by them.
Anyway, penny pinching can't be brought into it as an argument against Barmby, it's all the Allams have done at the club in the last year or so.
This is the problem of course. You say this as if it were fact. It isn't it's your opinion. So I am entitled to mine. The decision to get rid of Barmby was right. The way he was sacked was right. The timing of the announcement was right. Time will tell.
Of course we could come to a compromise and say:- You think they've treated Barby harshly, but time will tell. Then I'd have to agree with you. The way he was sacked looks harsh but time will tell, I agree with that. The timing of the announcement seems clumsy, but time will tell if there is a reason. I agree with that!
See, we're getting on better already.
Time will tell mate, to be honest when the new guy comes in that will give us something else to talk about.
Can't help thinking it suits Nick quite well to not say anything about the whole saga too. Makes him look like the victim in some areas.
Actually, quite a lot of people were wondering if Barmby was up to the job.
Understand what you mean.
It's like they saw it as an attack on their 'honour', and felt that that was the most heinous of crimes.
To most of us, it was a case of Nick PERHAPS being a bit cheeky in his remarks, and paying an inordinately hefty price. It was brutal. It was a display of power. And it was completely unnecessary.
A lot of people on here have turned their backs rather severely towards Nick Barmby I think (more so since he's actually gone) and I find that sickening. Many of these opinions were not uttered when he was in charge, they didn't dare, now they all say "I knew he wasn't good enough anyway". Hate that.
He's been ****ed off, big time.
I'll say it again, I see no reason why any decent manager would take the job here when you have that pair in charge. Why take the risk of being unceremoniously dumped like that? If they did it to popular Nick Barmby, they would do it to anyone.
IMHO, The Allams decided that NB/AP were not upto the job of getting City into the Premier League, and have therefore decided to take action.
Unfortunately, AP & NB are 2 of the biggest heroes of the last 10 years, so this action was always going to be messy and unpopular with lots of fans.
The fans think mainly with their hearts, but the Allams can only go by what they believe to be right for themselves and the Club.
I believe that they are gunning for a big promotion push next season and the management appointment and transfer budget will reflect that.
Some fans think that they don't know how to run a football club, but I think that they have taken charge of the ship and know exactly what they're doing.
They may prove me wrong, but I think they're a bit more savvy than most give them credit for.

It was only ever suggested by the odd angry over-reactor after a game, who later retracted it admitting he'd overreacted.
If anyone seriously thinks NB should have been able to manage 12-13 knackered players through that run of games without strengthening his team and get into the playoffs then they have ridiculously high expectations.
That's the vital point too. To everyone who said "he was never good enough anyway", he got less than one full season! 6 months or so I believe.
Never given a fair crack of the whip, never. Not in terms of time or funds promised. The sacking, and the manner of it, was plain insulting.
Thats it there in a nutshell. He took over to help out, got us to a respectable finishing position then the rest is history.
Completely agree with everything you've said. It shouldn't bother me so much, but as you've said it's the reaction from other fans that's concerned me most. The way most people have completely turned on Nick. The first 20 or so comments on that 'Barmby Suspended' thread were all along the lines of "What a disgrace." But gradually almost everyone has turned on him to the point where blindly supporting the Allams is now seen as the 'normal' view and those who disagree are now the radical ones. Sickening as you say.
No Party he blew it himself by playing politics and siding with Adam Pearson. As OLM has said on here AP was sacked for a few dodgy deals. Barmby obviously flew off the handle(past behaviour makes me think that) sacking his mate and thats the end.
Now our chairman and owner has made the decision lets move on there is no going back.
And can posters please stop saying the Allams are nuts/barking mad/bonkers, they are nothing of the sort.
