Care to share with us these "crazy decisions" too? Sacking Pearson? - Sound business decision Sacking Barmby? - Nice bloke, not up to the job either on the field or off the field imo, glad to see him go, hardly a crazy decision. Putting their own money in to save the club totally disappearing? - Yes ok you might have a point there...
Yes, but lets acknowledge they did save us. And don't think that business men don't "care" about the club. Many of them do (Jack Walker?). Remember, the Allams are Hull men. They support Hull as a city, its University Charities etc. This is their "Home Town" club. It is not the same as the Lady Boys buying Leicester or the Yanks buying Man U. So I suspect the Allams do care about the club. They still have a responsibility (to us, in law) to run it correctly. Give them a break, or give us some hard evidence that they've done wrong.
"Im not xxx but xxx" is always a good indication of exactly what someone is thinking or like. I know it annoys some haters but the Allams don't just care about the club, they care about the whole city. So please stop trying to suggest or worse, state, that they have evil plans, or don't know what they're doing, they are quite obviously good business men and care deeply about the whole area, despite everything said about them.
Getting one of our players to stop playing to take over the management after eight years, then sacking him a few months later, with a letter(not even the ****ing decency to tell him in person), with some piss poor excuse about not linking what he said in a local radio interview. Not necessarily crazy, but definitely ****ish behaviour of the highest order.
They aren't heroes they are businessmen. Nicky is a hero. Without his contributions to the club we wouldn't have made it to the Premier League. His reward for 8 years service, the boot. Nothing he did justified being sacked. I support footballers and my team, not businessmen and their agendas.
What annoys me is you calling people haters all the time, there are few, if any, people on this board who hate the Allam's, just a reasonable proportion that think they've behaved poorly with regard to Nick Barmby. Calling them haters all the time just makes you look like a twelve year old.
Sorry OLm you appear to have lost all objectivity about Barmby. Barmby is/was one of the most ruthless self centred players of the last 20 years, to think anyone can "get him to" do anything is ridiculous. A letter is the right way to follow procedure for a dismissal. He did an interview and bit the hand that fed him, result the sack.
Lets be honest OLM, the guy is a mate of yours. So are you really being objective? Maybe you are. Maybe you are right. But maybe you know something we don't. in which case, tell us and we'll all agree with you. Or if for some reason you can't, then we'll just have to make our minds up on what we see in the press. So some of us will agree with you and some won't. But it'll be your fault for witholding evidence from us. So the way I see this is.................................................it's all your fault!
I'll defend the Allams decision not to give Barmby any money for the wide men we want after. Although I would of prefared to have done, they were all quality players who would have improved us but we already had a number of wide men on our books; Stewart, Brady, King, Garcia and Mclean were all being played there. as business men why pay 6/7 players for 2 positions. The striker decision was on Barmby and AP. It doesn't help that the Allams saw Reading, West Ham and Southampton buy strikers in January which helped get them promoted. Barmby should still be our manager. The Allams overreacted.
Nicky isn't a hero, he was an overpaid footballer. Without the Allams contribution we wouldn't have a club at all. Barmbys reward for 8 years service was the massive salary he got. More then you and I will get in our entire working lives I bet. I support the Club and the team, not unsuccessful managers and their agendas.
Time will tell on this won't it, the decision to get rid of Barmby was wrong, the way he was sacked was wrong, the timing of the announcement was wrong. Lets see where we are a couple of years down the line with these owners.
Well said Chazz. I wish it had worked out for us and Nick, it would have been a lovely story, but it didn't. He was at the end of his playing days, he was given the chance to manage the club, he wasn't very good at it. Harsh lesson but one at least some have learnt. Sorry my opinion doesn't meet minds with some of the other posters on here, but if you seriously think I should sit quietly while people DO hate on the Allams and post some of the most stupid made up **** about them and still say nowt, you shouldn't be anywhere near a forum. Oh and accusing me of acting like a 12 year old.../facepalm
Drug lords? Point evaded then. I can accept that people think that I'm biased towards Nick, I am, but even if I wasn't it would change the fact that I think he's been exceptionally badly treated. And you should perhaps bear in mind that most of you have only heard one side of the story. I've heard both.
Nobody is 'hating' just pointing out that maybe things haven't been and are not being done properly. There is a split down the middle of the fans on this and to say you are right or I am right, well there is a problem there whether you like it or not.
