I can't understand why you would think changing the club's name isn't as bad as changing the club colours?

To me, they're equally bad, in fact I'd say a name change was worse.

You're half right but as I have pointed out in the same post there's changing names and there's changing names. He is adding Tigers to our name to replace City. Now I don't want that , you don't want that, very few people I've spoken to want that. But even you must admit that the change he wants is not in the same league as something like "Vauxhall Motors".

It's like all these idiots that keep coining the tired phrase "doing whatever he likes". Well I don't call this doing "Doing whatever he likes" when compared to what he could do.

I disagree, in this scenario. I'd compare what Allams doing to the name to changing the shade of the colours. If it was a wholesale name change, say to Allamhouse Wild Cats, then I'd agree that's worse than changing the colours from amer and black to pink and purple.

Damn him for not living in the past and wanting to take us forwards.

Damon him for being duplicitous.

There were also the creditors at the time of purchase. They had to be paid.

I agree. I also clearly recall the debt rising as they discovered more as they held the reins; their due diligence and hard bargaining seemed a little vulnerable. It's all academic, as no one can question his business acumen.

From the transcript of the Calendar interview...

When could this happen? When’s the earliest that the City…

We have to decide on this before err by early next year because it will certainly before we issue new season passes for the fans to decide what they want to do. Sorry it’s err, early next year to do it or not to do it, to shorten the name by removing City and become as powerful as Southampton. Is not Southampton AFC. It is not Southampton City AFC, no, it is Southampton Saints, right? And we have Arsenal, you have Chelsea, you have err Everton, you have West Bromwich, you have many many, you can play football without being AFC do you know!

Does that worry you people?

It worries me.

I saw that, and I was wondering why the interviewer doesn't put him right. West Brom's full name isn't short ffs!

Well done to whoever transcribes an AA rant into the written word. Can't be easy.

And I'm sure he thinks our manager has just one name 'Stevebruce'

The only thing that worries me is his trouble with the English language after over 40 bloody years of living here!
I buy in to what some people are saying, that some of te stuff he says is beeing completely misinterpreted due to his poor English. Not all of it mind..

Along with a quote from writer Kevin Sampson - "What are they thinking of? Hull City is already a monumental ‘brand’. Hull City is one of THE great Northern footy clubs and, just like Leeds United or Bolton Wanderers, Hull City embodies the values of the people who make the club. It’s a club with heart and real history, and the thousands who flock there have an emotional bond with a historic team. They’re proud to call themselves City fans. It’s crazy that anyone would even contemplate messing with that. It’s Hull City. Always has been. Always will be."

But even you must admit that the change he wants is not in the same league as something like "Vauxhall Motors"

Are you ******ed? Vauxhall Motors, like PSV Eindhoven and Bayer Leverkusen, were formed by the company from which they take their name.

Hull Tigers is far, far worse. It's up there with Red Bull Salzburg*

*Whose fans formed a new club, incidentally...

"But just to remind you, they say ‘We remain puzzled that Dr Allam cannot distinguish between the name of the holding company and the football name of the club he owns. Until he registers the new name with the Football Association, the club remains Hull City AFC. Dr Allam believes we are already called Hull City Tigers, a name ripe for shortening, Therefore that’s spectacularly,’ in their words, ‘ill judged and erroneous.’ What do you say to that?"

Free country! Believe in what you want to believe in. Is a free country. Say what you like. I don’t answer these questions

He's completely lost the plot
