Two sayings people use these days as a term of derision "happy Clapper" and "Do Gooder" I hate it. What kind of world is it where supporting and encouraging the team through hard times leads you to being abused or doing good is wrong. What the hell do these people tell their kids.

    Couldn't agree more mate.

In the 70's/80's people were called 'good lads' for sticking with the shirt though thin and thinner.

I was followed out of Wimbledon, in Neil's first away game, for applauding Pritchard when he came over at the the end of the game.

They kept it up, all the way back to the Tube, until I turned round and slapped one across the face.

There was a bit of a scuffle, other people jumped in to break it up but I lost my black SAFC baseball cap ...

... it was a present from Mrs Smug and she's never forgotten it <doh>

Where did it all go wrong.

I think you would have a different view if you were on Facebook, Twitter or RTG, this place has been a relative oasis in the desert compared to those places. I have just left every SAFC Facebook and Twitter group I was in, it's been an absolute nightmare. Some of the comments from ex colleagues and people I know socially are childlike to say the least.

The Facebook groups contradict themselves so badly it’s wild.

Literally direct opposite quotes and opinions a few hours apart.

    Quite right mate.

A good percentage of 606 posters go to home game and away games when they can get tickets.

It seems the most outraged people rarely go to games.

    Hmmm .....

    Absolutely mate.

In ‘real life’ the biggest bitchers (and gloaters when going well) are lads who never go games.

One in particular I have offered free tickets several times, won’t go, and will still be bitching all over socials.

Not saying not going the match doesn’t allow you a view on the club like, but it does mean you miss a big part of the picture at times.

I choose where to get my footy fix from carefully mate. When the internet was launched it was dubbed the information superway. It is now more like the information sewer.

I remember a good fees years ago I used to drink in 3 pubs mainly. One of them became the local of some loudmouths who just argued black was white to get a rise. I just kept to the two pubs. I like debate and different opinions, all good, but I cant be doing with it from people that I reckon are clueless or idiots.

I will stick this little sanctuary and share my opinions and read others. If it becomes all arguments and petty bickering I will just talk to myself in the shed <laugh>

I’m not. You seem to be completely ignoring I’m buying my ticket and will continue to do so as I have done for the last 44 years. I’ll continue to follow my team through thin and thin and I agree at the minute it’s slightly thicker, but it’s not all rosey on the pitch side of things either. We haven’t had a proper centre forward playing for nearly a year and I feel the team could do with some experience as was highlighted last week. However there is a lot wrong on the commercial side as has happened with the ticket office and club shop which only improved due to fan pressure. The ticket system where it was electronic only until there was a back lash and the BCB for the last two years regardless of the mags game has been diabolical. Add on endangering fans in the north stand and the new kit deal that lasted a day or so due to yet another fan backlash. They need to start looking, listening and learning.

Some people simply can't go, for whatever reason, and that's fair enough.

But people who actually sit in the ground, home and especially away, probably get a more balanced view.

Dunno tbh, people seem to become violently enraged over fck all on social media ...

... I'm just glad I'm not them, must be horrendous being that wound up all the time.

You mentioned your ticket but nothing to do with the transformation of the footballing side Things aren’t right commercially I sit in the North stand and have a real problem with issues over last couple of years But I can also stand back and see the bigger picture The club in transforming and moving forward but you want rid of the current owners because the commercial offering isn’t right. Brilliant Let’s just sell the club and build a theme park

That's the best way FellTop, I was persuaded to join Facebook in 2015 by family members. I had steered clear up until then because pre retirement, I was commissioned to carry out numerous investigations into the misuse of social media by staff.

I am very easy going but stopped posting on Facebook a few years ago, I only use it now for hobby sites. But because of the toxicity, I have now left all of the SAFC related sites and I am seriously contemplating not renewing my season cards next season.

You said you no longer support the current regime. Sounds like you want a change. To me

Well that’s your misinterpretation of my meaning. Doesn’t mean they can’t turn me around but they won’t get a penny extra out of me until they start to fix the problems and stop making really basic mistakes.

I'm in danger of making the same mistake I made a couple of weeks ago and defending the indefensible... but that's not what I'm actually trying to do. My dad has had similar situations... bloke behind etc etc. Thing is, and this is not obligatory for you to consider...why does he feel the need to do that. Must be something that is causing it. Again, not your problem. If his rantings are genuinely spoiling your experience then I think you definitely should point that out...probably the case, you seem fairly measured, in general. On the other hand, might be the only situation where the bloke can really vent. The point I'm suggesting is however much he is acting like a dick, he probably does love the club and might just be misguided.

Surely you’d only do that if you weren’t happy with the club?

It's affecting about 8 or 9 people around where he sits, 2 others moved seats this season as its constant moaning.

The last time I asked why in a 46k stadium where everyone was getting behind the lads did he need to shout abuse at players and moan at every single thing the players do, his answer was "I pay the same as everybody else and I'm entitled to tell them they are ****e"

I asked if he would consider toning it down as it was annoy people and was told to **** off.

When he left on 85 minutes as he always does, 3 people thanked me for speaking up as it was making them consider moving seats as well

Start engaging the fans (I left the BCB this season as they changed the offering without talking to the customers and on the back of yet another debacle with the Fulham FA Cup match where the offering was changed and we all got our money back). Doing the simple things correctly by listening to their staff who know the business (a good friend warns SD about the electronic ticket system needing to be implemented in stages and they were ignored, so they left the ticket office after 20 years). I suppose overall by not having multiple threads of people on various social media channels saying how shambolic and amateurish the commercial operation is.
