Envious of Sonny Terry and Brownie McGhee.

Didn't miss anything with the Beatles, SSS. 20 minutes of mayhem where you couldn't hear or see anything. McCartney was off stage for about a third of the numbers with a problem with his guitar but I didn't notice. But you just had to see them to tick the box.
Stones only cost the equivalent of 32p and 50p when I saw them in 1964, the cost of about 3 pints and 5 pints of beer. Glad I saw Little Richard the same year when he was still at his peak.
Saw Vinegar Joe, and Dada before them. Got an "evening"and a name check off Palmer when he saw me. Saw him with the Alan Brown Set, another excellent band as well. And of course with the Mandrakes on numerous occasions.

Sonny T & Brownie Mc were big supporters of the early UK festivals of the late 60's & early 70's - I saw them at Reading when it was still predominantly a Jazz & Blues festival, there were quite a few American Blues acts on whose names I can't recall, the harmonica play of Sonny Terry is something I'll take to my grave. I was too young for The Beatles, I didn't start really earning enough money for gigs AND football until 1970, by then the Beatles had gone and The Stones were just too expensive. Had lots of chances to see The Who but for various reasons I missed out.

To tell you the truth i love all kinds of music and could like a lot of others on here name a long list of bands I've seen! But why don't you start a thread of your own? Then if I want to have a look at the anniversary of a certain album I can? :emoticon-0148-yes:

I like and appreciate the mix on here.
